I've had my black ones since 1983 when they were issued to me. I cannot wear them out. No liners to ever worry about drying or wearing out.

I don't think many people who have spend hundreds can say that!

No matter how good my boots are, If I am sitting still long enough they do got cold.

i guarentee your feet wouldn't get cold in the saskatchewan pac boot its impossible....even if you are the biggest sissy in the world you can add foot warmers into the inserts they have in the sole of the boot.

i can bowhunt or stand on ice the whole day with a pair of everyday socks.

forsure them are awesome boots too...i was looking at cabelas last night and seen they didn't have the saskatchewans anymore, my GF wants the nicest boots made because her feet are always cold so we are gonna get her the alaskan III boot forsure.

I'll play devils advocate...for me it's more about the socks than the boots.

Good wicking socks first, wool or wool/poly blend.

Never ever wear cotton socks.

I had the Predator extremes for 3 yrs. and switched to the Baffin impacts this year. The fabric covering the tongue on the extremes wore out and water was getting in. Also the sole started to delaminate from the uppers at the flex points letting water in. Otherwise they are very good boots and kept my feet warm.

The Impacts are very nice. Easy on/off with the buckles & straps.(compared to speed lacing on the extemes) They also have a cinch cord around the top to keep out air/snow. The liner is very thick, warm & comfy on the feet. They seem much lighter and easier to walk in than the extremes also. So far they are waterproof and they have an aggressive tread pattern for good traction. We'll see how hey hold up after 3-4 yrs.

Got some Baffin Impacts last winter from GM, paid only $100 for them, bulletproof so far and super convenient for slipping on for a quick out of the dog and stuff. Really warm. Love the traction. Love the buckles/straps also. They are also great for guys who've had ankle surgery or have other leg/foot issues, my dads ankle is permanently fused and about twice as big as it should be and he can put on/take off the Baffins like no other great warm boot out there.

I agree as I purchased a pair this year and really like them. Not only are they extremely warm but I really like how light they are.

I purchased a pair of Inferno's the other day. Only been out once since then, but very impressed with them. Just a little bulky, but coming from a 600gram "hunting" boot it was a nice upgrade.

They feel like they will need a good break in period, but I'm satisfied, and with the $20 off coupon, I got them for $84

The Infernos performed great in the bone chilling temps the past few days, and they are breaking in nicely.

I have a pair of Bunny Boots. The things I dont like about them is the weight if you do a lot of walking and they will chafe you if you dont wear a high sock. I have had cold feet sitting in them for hours but never painfully cold.

I am looking into getting something better for walking in and I was considering the Baffin Impact. But from other people I have heard that drilling a hole in the ice your feet will get wet since they are not 100% waterproof. None of Baffin's Extreme line boots are ( Barneo, Impact, Doug Stoup, etc...) right from their own addmission on their HSOforum.

So I moved my attention to possibly the Lacrosse Alpha Extreme PFT's. They claim 100% waterproof. Can someone tell me how they are for walking in?????

I have not checked into the Trans Alaskan III's but after reading this thread I intend to.

I have Cabella's Inferno boots and I love them. Buy a size bigger or wear normal summertime socks if you buy them in your size. I typically wear very lightweight socks and my feet never sweat or get to cold, for long, extended periods on the ice.

I have been using a pair of Baffin Titan boots now for 3 weeks. They are a fully rubber boot with removeable liner rated for -150 that is supposed to wick moisture away from your feet. They are not as bulky as i thought they would be when ordered them and they are light at around 6.5 lbs/pair. My feet do sweat a bit in them even durring the recent cold but with wool socks never had my toes get cold...just simply take the liner out at the end of the day and ready to go in the morning.

And the Baffin Titan boots go for under $100.

I have an old pair of Sorel Dominators from before they started making them in Cheena. I hope they last a long time because they are awesome.

I just bought my wife a pair of Baffin icefields. I hope that they are as warm and waterproof as they claim, or wifey will never fish again.
