Noises in the dark

Well it wasn't exactly dark, but was sitting in the ground blind this morning when I could hear footsteps coming down the trail I was watching coming from behind me. So I waited until I could see movement and then drew. Do you guys know that a turkey walking in the creeking snow and leaves sounds just like a deer? I think it was the only time I was ever disappointed to see turkeys

I have done the same thing with a porcipine during the ripley hunt a few years back

I could be way worse. I have had turkeys sound like they are having a dance party/rave. Gobbling and clucking so loud I couldn't stand it. No deer in its right mind would go any where near that.

It's amazing how the littlest critters can make the big noises.

A couple years ago while bow-hunting I watched 2 flocks of about 20 turkeys each meet about 50 yards from me. It was insane, like two gangs going at it. Fighting, scratching, screeching... lasted about 5 minutes then they spit up and proceeded to roost down the ridge a little way. They are not very graceful or quiet fliers....

I had the same deal with an opossum last fall. Sure are ugly looking things...

My first(only)success with rattling. Heard one coming....turned out to be a beaver!
