Black_Bay
Well Charlie Weiss is out. Anyone care to guess whos' next in line? All I've heard is the Cincinnati coach is a possible candidate.
Coach1310
Too many coaches have failed for it to the be the TOP job in College FBall anymore. I can't see the Cincinnati coach leaving either.... I don't know where they will go, but I doubt they will get results much different then recent years.. Cold weather, tough entry standards, lack of recent success.... most stud HS players don't even remember Notre Dame being any good!!
mrklean
i saw that weiss has already been offered a few offencesive cord jobs in the nfl again
CJH
Before he was fired, six teams wanted to interview them for the OC position. He's not a head good, but he's a good OC!!!
LMITOUT
If Notre Dame's main goal is to barely win six games and go to a meaningless bowl game, then Brewster is their man!
Snag
It's kind of funny that they can't recruit anymore, but they seem to do well in Minnesota.

Big Dave2
If Notre Dame's main goal is to barely win six games and go to a meaningless bowl game, then Brewster is their man! No way Brewster wins 6 games with ND's schedule. He would have to schedule some division 1aa schools.

JBMasterAngler
Athletic director at notre dame would be fired (hopefully before being assasinated) if he hired brewster for any position on the team.I hope the cincinnati coach doesn't take the job. He's got it made there...favorite to win the big east every year, meaning BCS bowl every year, with a shot at the national title. Do the right thing and stay. Hopefully cincy adds more seats to their stadium though. Notre Dame is interested in the central michigan coach as well, I think he'll get it. so haaad
If Notre Dame's main goal is to barely win six games and go to a meaningless bowl game, then Brewster is their man! We didn't see this one coming! Always...always...
pegleg
Weis would be a fool to take an offensive coordinator position. His Notre Dame buyout is $18 million being he had 6 years left on his contract. Why work, he can sit around eat, drink and be happy.
CJH
I think he gets paid that regardless. Plus I am sure he wants to prove he is "still" a good coach.I agree with you to a certain extent, why not take it easy for a while!!!!???? Cold weather, tough entry standards, lack of recent success.... most stud HS players don't even remember Notre Dame being any good!! Notre Dame doesn't get good recruits? In Weis's first year recuiting 2005 Rivals ranked them 40th, then in subsequent years they ranked 8th in 06, 8th in 07, 2nd in 08, 21st in 09, and are currently ranked at 11th for 2010. Other than in 05, following a coaching change btw, they recuited pretty darn well. Cold weather and tough entry standards are lame excuses. There is worse weather, tougher standards, and fewer things for student athletes to do at many top schools.
Coach1310
Those rankings only average out to roughly 15th over that span. The Notre Dame "tradition" used to do all the recruiting for them, but now that tradition it is basically an after thought. As a recruit what do you take into consideration.... exposure, national championships, nfl preparedness, winning and campus environment and for a select few the education. The only 2 that Notre Dame even touches is exposure(because we are forced to watch them every week) and education. For the rest of it, they are much better off at the cutting edge programs like Florida, Bama, USC, etc... than a "has been" Notre Dame. JBMasterAngler
I don't think tradition does anything for kids anymore as far as recruiting goes. There's alot more schools nowadays to choose from than there was back in notre dame's glory years. Also, if I'm charlie weiss, I'm not in any hurry to be working again. I'd be using that $18 to help get the economy back on track and taking lot's of vacations and buying a new house or 2.

A coach is one of your greatest assetts when it comes to recruiting. Look what Saben did for Alabama. That program was just as irrelivant as Notre Dame until Saben showed up and in just a couple of years they have 2 consecutive undefeated seasons.
