There is an appraisal site on the internet that I used to have some chairs valued. I think it cost 10 bucks for a basic appraisal and a little more for more detail. Since we can't post links here, email me at [email protected] if you would like me to send it to you.

Unfortunately the chairs weren't worth enough money for a new boat. :-(

I have a friend that does Civil War reenactments, and puts on Civil war seminars at schools and colleges throughout the midwest.

When and if you get them appraised, he may be interested in buying them, depending on what they are and their historical background.

Or, if you can outline what they are in more detail,he would probably be able to give you an idea of their value.

The double barrell muzzleloader has hardware made by Joseph Bolger. Not sure who put together the entire gun. It has 2 different size and shaped barrell's. Interesting. Had an antique gun collecter look at it several years ago and he put it as being made in the early 1800's. Have pics to send to you or anyone else's email. Thanks, Mike

There was an auction at Luther Auctions in North Saint Paul monday night and they had 8-12 old guns. Luther publishes the acutal prices they get at their auctions. If you go to their HSOforum you can see a picture of the item, a description, and if you open another file it will list the price realized.

I find some of the amounts are pretty incredible. There surely was some collectors or dealers in this audience.

They were handed down from my grandfather, to my dad, to me. My dad also brought home a Japenese officers sword from New Guinea, when he was there during WWII. Had the sword dismantled by an expert, and the blade was made in or around 1505. Told me the province also. That has some sentimentle value.
