Announcing the Second annual Cool Cats on Ice cat fishing get together spnsored by ICE Series.
The date is January 17th on Horseshoe Lake near Richmond.
We will meet out on the ice at 10:00 and fish until.....

This event is free and for every one. Meet your friends from “FM”. Bring the family, bring your buddies, bring anyone. We will have a grill and a deep fryer available on the ice. Bring some burgers or dogs to grill or fry a cat out on the ice.
Come join us for some catfishing fun on the Ice!

We will also be giving away some door prizes:

Unfortunately Aaron and I will be at LOW that weekend I'm sure he'd be up for it if it involved catfish! Sounds like fun!

I had the pleasure of spending a day on the river with Aaron a week or so ago.We had a good time and cought a few eyes and saugers.

I heard that! He was frying up the walleyes you guys got on the MN River when I talked to him. He really liked that River Pro!

Scenic Tackle will also be donating tackle packages.Their Glow Devils and Angel Eyes are hot on the ice.
TSJigs will be donating Stinger Jigs.These jigs have a rigid wire stinger molded into the head.They are great through the ice on larger game fish.
Catch-n Tackle will be donating Ring-N Grubs(a personal favorite of mine )Ring-n Tubes and Bio Bait.I think the Bio Bait is going to a hot item this season.
And of course I will be donating a Minnesota River Catfish trip and a boat ride you won't believe in a River Pro.

Final thought. Does anyone have an extra space in their shelter? It looks as though it's going to be a rather nice day, but the lake looks big and currently I don't have a shelter. Just worried if that wind is a kickin'. I may just run out and get something tomorrow, but just checkin' in case I don't.

SHould have decent weather with highs near 30.Might be a bit breezy.Fishing should be good as we are ahead of a cold front.

A great time out on the Horseshoe Chain today for the Cool Cats Get Together. The wind made things interesting and for those of us who got there early the bite was pretty good. A lot of cats on the LX-3 and quite a few were suspended 10-12 feet off the bottom in numerous occations. Here are a few pictures of some cats caught today...

It was nice to put some faces to a few more names and to ice a few of those hard fighting cats! Red glow spoons tipped with the upper half of a minnow was how I got all my cats today. They were light biters and some bites even went undetected. If you get the chance to ice a few cats then give it a try. They are a blast!

Hey! That was FUN!
I want to thank every one who came and made it a such good time.Met a bunch of old faces and made some new friends,and caught a few cats.Could'nt have been a better time for me.(of course some one could have turned that wind down just a notch!)

The morining bite was decent allthough they were biting VERY light.Almost undectible.A slight slack in the line was all the give away that the cats would give me.My Rock-n-Reel helped me pick up two of the cats I caught.The rod tip just rose a fraction of an inch then I would slam the little puss and the fight was on!Oooh I just love catching those whiskered devils!

I had a excellent time at cool cats, I met alot of new people that have the desire of fishing like I do. We managed a few cats, the bite was tough I had to downsize to 4lb and ultralight gear to get them to go.
A strong thanks to Dennis you put on a spectacular event, the food and fried cats were top notch. Also wanted to say thanks to all sponsors and people who donated products you are appreciated by all. And a big Thumbs up to T-Bone I can't wait to try my new tub mount Rock-n-Reel.
