Wensel
I and a few other guys own a hunting shack and some land together all equal.Originally I had plans for the openerBut as the wind my schedule changedHowever in the meantime one of the others calls me"My wife is hunting so dont know if you want to come"We had this issue last year and after a battle he left his wife homeI certainly enjoy her, but did not buy a shack to hunt with her.Nothing against women hunting, its just that was never part of our dealThoughts? picksbigwagon
buy him out or sell him your share. Obviously his wife wants to hunt and he wants her to hunt too. If you truly feel slighted, sell you share or offer to buy his. Obviously since you "battled" last year, he doesn't think his wife should be excluded. What would happen if they got divorced and she won his hunting rights in the divorce settlement?
Tom7227
There has been a lot of stuff written here on how to deal with this sort of thing. The easy answer is that you should have thought of it when you were in the process of buying the place. Check this one out:http://www.fishingminnesota.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2057477/1 My advice is to contact the guy who said he has a friend that's a lawyer that deals with this stuff. Contact that lawyer and get some ideas from him/her and then have a sit down with your crew and come to an agreement and then put it together in writing and have everyone sign it. Otherwise all you're going to do is go around in circles for however long, toss out ideas, and maybe end up either getting mad at each other or coming up with a solution that has built in problems. LightningBG
I think you should let her go. MN isn't a community property state, but in day to day life, most would consider most property shared. It might not be ideal having a lady around but what are ya gonna do? Not worth alienating a friend over. (I do feel that you should be able to still drink some beers, continue farting or burping or whatever you have always done.)What would you do if one of your friends wanted to bring his son or daughter? dartsportsteve
I wish I could get my wife interested in hunting, although... I do like being able to smoke cigars and drink good whiskey once in a while without her looking over me.If it is a tradition though of not having wives there, I'd have to lay down the law, though. deerminator
So I don't get it? What's the issue? That adding her makes for two many hunters or that you just can't stand her as a person and don't want her at the shack?
Double D
I think the issue is that this was not the original plan. My guess is the original plan was for him and his partners to remain as a hunting group. Doesn't matter if it's a wife, brother in law, neighbor, whoever. You will also run into the same problem when someone wants to start bringing kids. 1 guy has 2, 1 guy has 1, who has more say, on and on.I speak of this from second hand experience. You have to set these unwritten rules up at the beginning or it's a mess later.DD
