State record archery moose?

I heard a new state record moose was shot the other week, anyone else here that?

I did a seasrch on the internet and found nothing about a record moose. There was a large moose shot by a 12 year old girl a few weeks back.

Maybe thats what the rumor is.

I heard the potentially new record Pope and Young moose was taken recently but that was in Alaska. Havent heard anything about a Minnesota moose.

Courious as to how you heard about it. This is true, as I was on the trip.

Then you heard from the proper source. Yes a new MN state record will be posted after the 60 day drying period (Dec 3). The moose was shot in the BWCAW on opening morning with a bow at close range. We have sent a picture to the Outdoor News, but it hasn't been posted yet. Our plan is to take the skull (European mount) to the Deer Classic Show in the spring for offical measuring and recording. I was not on the license but was on the trip (as a Sherpa) and was witness. My buddy who shot it is the ultimate bowhunter and will be staying in the shallow end of any publicity on this until the time is right, thus the reason it has not been published at this time. This is the first public posting on this hunt. So please keep this on the down low until you see posting in Outdoor News or after the official measuring next month.

Nice! There sure were a lot of 50"+ moose taken this year. I lost track in Outdoor News. I can't wait to see this one.

no prob i had no intent of posting the pic, its not my place to start posting pics of other peoples animals without there permission. Its pretty cool to know someone who has shot a monster like that.
