TR21HP
How about getting the ones they have in shape? I have never seen so many fat bellies hanging over their pants. The days of the 350 lb. lineman is going away, especially with the defensive ends that are speed rushing and punishing these slow lineman. Did you see the job Peppers did on McKiney - and Mckinney's an all pro. Get down to a reasonable weight , improve your conditioning and maybe the backs will have some holes to run through. SkunkedAgain
That right tackle for most of the season was terrible -- the one who had the two false starts (one of them phantom) in the Michigan St. game. I don't know if the defense was that bad. They were always put back on the field due to the lack of offense. The offense sure seemed to get worse this season. LMITOUT
I bet Brewster is ecstatic after hearing of Pete Carroll's departure from USC. Now instead of getting drilled by 40 next season they'll only get drilled by 35.
zepman
Lost another recruit today.
JBMasterAngler
They might get drilled by 45 instead If Del Rio gets hired he'll be looking to make some noise and show he's for real and that USC is back in contention! Plus, it'll kind've be a homecoming for him
TR21HP
Del Rio is staying with the Jags - doesn't want any part of that mess at USC. They are going to have a hard time getting a coach thats wants to spend his first few years on probation.
zepman
I heard Del Rio has 3 years/15 million left on his contract...why in the world would he leave that? Even if he get's fired they still would have to buy that out.I don't think there's any way USC could touch that.
rayguy
Maybe the Brew will take the USC job. Hey then they will only whack us by 25!
pinkfloyd4ever
Problem with that is USC is looking for a football coach not a motivational speaker

TR21HP
Lane and his dad are the new coaches at USC. Is Kiffin a joke or what? He knew he wasn't going to be able to back up all that smack he was talking and he knew he wouldn't be able to compete in the SEC so he bails to a weaker conference and tries to get some wins. rcatcherman
All football whether it be pro or college is out of control. Money seems to be the prevailing answer to all positions not performance. And that be for player or coach. Loyalty to Coach or Player is a thing of the past. Seems to me that is just like any employer is now to the employee. Doesn't seem that there is much for long term employment on either part. It's always greener on the other side of the fence. JBMasterAngler
Any word on whether the extension has been finalized or not? The only gopher news I've been hearing the last few weeks are all the recruits we keep losing.
Flash
2 yr extension signed today. Go Gophers!!!
so haaad
Ladies and gentlemen...we got 'em. It will be interesting to see how signing day goes next week.
LMITOUT
Looks like you can kiss your chances of any meaningful wins goodbye for another two years. If there is a silver lining to this news it is that the extension was only for two years. CJH
I wouldn't be surprised if the U put an "out" clause in it, since extensions are primarily done for recruiting with mediocre coaches. (such as Brewster)
timjones
Looks like you can kiss your chances of any meaningful wins goodbye for another two years. Try four years. It was a two year extension to his existing contract which has two years left. They said he would be here through the 2013 season.

so haaad
Whether Brewster can coach, recruit, do both or do neither is very debatable, even to serious Gopher fans. Next year should really tell us a lot about Brewster and his credibility. The gophers have a very tough schedule, but still, there's no more "Mason's recruits" and just his players. JBMasterAngler
It's gonna be a tough season to watch next year. Lane Kiffin is gonna bring USC here and run the score up bigtime! And since things will have already been going downhill before that game (loss to middle tennessee state), the rest of the season will be downright unwatchable
LMITOUT
If six wins every year against bottom of the pack teams is stability, then Brewster is your man.....you got'em alright!
zepman
Over the last 50 years nobody else has proven they can do better over a sustained period of time with this program. The one who FINALLY comes in here and get's it done will be on the next train out of town heading for bigger pastures as soon as possible.Unless he finds an offense...next year will be his last anyway.
