Chad711
If the NFL would change the horrible challenge rules Favre would have had another 50 yards and a TD to Sidney Rice ( which would ese EVERYONES mind if his line was 15/21 2tds). That was a td catch in the 3rd Quarter, they couldn't challenge it, even though Childress won BOTH challenges in the first half.Speaking of that, how they didn't see that Benny Sapp recovered is unreal. Of course that play not getting called correct, resulted in us having to challenge another play later in the drive, which we won too. These are the things that annoy me in a game! Chad711
Speaking of that first challenge, if the refs cannot determine possession (I have no clue how they couldn't), why did they review it, and charge Minnesota with a challenge? lol
Born2Fish
yeah its all good posts now, till they lose that first game, then every post will be all negative, want to get rid of coaching staff, new qb. In reality we all know we are not going to have a perfect season. I expect them to lose, and I also expect there to be games where Favre does not do that great(he is the all time NFL interception leader!). But I think that what he did against the Browns is what we needed him to do. Manage the clock, find a few open receivers, and hand the ball off to the best back in the game. I think that Harvin is going to be more involved the further along the season progresses. And with more catches, and or touches, he is only going to get better and better. And from watching the game yesterday, I think that Sidney Rice is finally going to reach the potential that we drafted him for.
DTro
Those replay rules are so weak. Either fix the system or just junk the whole deal jeez. So you only get 2 now? What a crock. If they keep making bad calls, keep throwing the red flag. A pattern will appear and then you can “can” the ref. Rice was inbounds, that was a fumble, and the one interference call that went our way at the goal line wasn’t interference. Not a good grade for the officials. Speaking of bad grades, the audio and video issues were the worst I’ve ever seen, Fox needs to fix that. What else can I go off about The game couldn’t have been better for the Vikes and I would be surprised to see how any team is going to figure out how to stop them. bottomdweller
It was a win. Thats what is important, but as someone mentioned once the we lose the first game, we will be calling for the coaches head. I am here calling for his head now!!! If the vikes win the bowl I will still be calling for his head. I just dont think he is a good coach. Look at all the talent on this team, they darn well better win a lot of games. You have to thank zygi for making this year possible. Go Vikes
Chad711
Lol... So if they win the Superbowl, you want the head coach to be fired. Really, stop and think for a moment. Not only that, you start your comment out by saying a win is a win. I bet you also aren't satisfied with those 2 Bucks in your avatar. Good Lord, some of you people just cannot be satisfied....

alwaysonthemove
Gotta love it! MAYBE just MAYBE if chili was not the head coach T-Jack might be somebody? You never know
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted September 15, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted September 15, 2009 what in the world was the 1st kick off? Some of chili's play calls make me pull my hair out. This is not high school football! Actually, if the kicker had kicked a normal onside kick it would have been an easy recovery. A 20 yard kick in the air landed just about where everyone had backed off to by the time the ball was caught. That whole front line was alreading moving and 15 yards back and heading south at the kick.
alwaysonthemove
yeah I agree with that But why call it at an away game. When no teams have established there season out look yet.
lawdog
Why call it then? Because no one expects it then! I actually thought the call was great, the execution was suspect though as Rick pointed out. My GUESS is that the run up to a regular onside kick might be a little easier to spot than to a pooch like that though, MAYBE that's whe he kicked it that way???Pretty impressive second half. AP is a freak. That last TD wasn't even something you can put in words.

croixflats
Wasnt Bud Grant known for suprise onside kicks. Not comparing Chili to Bud Grant but it has been used buy the greats.I like the call keeps the other team on their toes.
fishin58
The Vikings saw a weakness and went after it, the Browns saw the same weakness the week PRIOR and fixed the problem. That would be my guess. The guy prolly peeled back hard in Pre-season and both teams noticed it.
pinkfloyd4ever
On that onside kick, I say why not, you got a great D, and its the first kick of the first game, so go for it. Seems the last few opening kickoff weekends one team has tried that huh?
Mudcutter
no one is talking about (at least the pages I have read) the fact that the Chill didn't call a TO before the end of the 1st half. The Browns had downed the ball on a Quinn kneeldown. 4th down. Still 7 seconds left. Why not take a TO and try a punt block or return for TD??/ Didn't get it. and at the time the vikes were behind 13-10. I was upset.
