No waves made Big A, its cool to put info out there it just seemed as if your first post was lumping all members as bad people, when in reality they are not, thats what kind of got under my skin.......anyways its all about riding with brothers and friends, stay safe and ride hard

Bottom line is this fellas, some people don't want to be around bikers, others love hanging out with bikers. No one's lumping anyone into any group. Just tossin out the info that there is going to be quite a party up nort and iffin you don't want to be around that type of stuff, don't go.

Pretty cool that this conversation has stayed civil, tho.

We live just a couple of miles away from the Black Bear casino and I am not to worried about any of it. They have rented a bar/ballroom for the weekend that is 2 blocks from the casino at a cost of $200,000 and will tend the bar themselves. Word is that they bought $100,000 worth of liquor from one of the local liquor stores. I have no way of knowing whether either story is true but I have heard it enough to believe there is some truth. The county will have a meeting this friday for the media and concerned citizens at the transportation building and they will have another after they leave. I am thinking that I want to take some pictures of all the bikes motoring around if they are in a pack.

I just watched the piece on Kare 11 and found it strange that they interview the sheriff from Pine county when the casino and ballroom are located in Carlton county. The sheriffs department is located maybe 3 miles from the casino and the transportation building is maybe 4 blocks away(where they gas up,fix and store there cars and trucks). The only reason I ask this is because our sheriff is a female and maybe they did not want to let the boys know this or was she just to busy at the time. Who knows but I did find it a little strange.

jimalm ... sad to say you hit the nail right on the head with the last two sentences of your post.

I guarantee there will be more info coming. But for those interested you will probably have to search beneath the headlines and do some online research.

Also.. please use caution when taking pictures. That is not always a welcomed activity. But you are right.. there should be a lot of cool bikes in the area.

Pine Co. under sheriff has had his undies in a bundle over this meet and greet for two months now.

Worry warts must keep him from sleeping at night.

It has not been a big deal except for all the extra traffic from all the agency's that are patrolling the area. There are cops from as far away as St. Cloud along with the border patrol and the Feds and a ton of Highway patrols and they also brought along there drunk mobile. There are always a cop or 2 watching the entrance to the Lost Isle along with a another 5 to 10 parked along Hwy 210. The H.A. have there guards to make no one comes in the lot of Lost Isle. The H.A. also put semi trailers and those large storage bins along 210 so you have a hard time seeing what goes on in the parking lot where they have a large tent set up. I was told this morning that the county jail was emptied to make room and so far no one has been jailed. In the evening for the past 2 nights there has also been a helicopter flying around from 6:00 to dark. For the most part things have been pretty tame and more then likely will stay that way as long as the Outlaws stay in WS and I guess the superior police have been keeping a eye on them. It dose make for cheap entertainment but I would hate to see what the total bill will be for this little party.

Taking pictures is not advisable. But I would recomend that if you are up that way when they pull out to Sturgis to go watch ( and cheer)remember they spent alot of money. If you have not seen a few hundred bikes all running to gether it is a sight, When I ride in a group I alway leave some distance between my self and the next bike/ What you will see is them riding very very tight side to side and front to back. Now I do not want to start some thing about how un safe that is. These guys ride to gether many many miles like this with no problems kind of like a nascar race only slower and on 2 wheels I have seen and been apart of it many times.

I would like to take the time to thank all the police officers, deputies, troopers, BCA agents, conservation officers, and feds who made this a safe event for the public. What some seem to forget is that the HA's are a criminal enterprise much like the Bloods, Crips, Sureños, or mafia.

THANK YOU officers for making this an uneventful gathering.

There is A LOT of information that has not been released to the public yet.

But overall Berens Lake ON is right..

THANKS TO ALL who made this event the opposite of what the HA's wanted and stated.. it would be. MN made a solid statement in regards to the preparation and handling of these guys. I would expect they will take the party elsewhere next time.

A lot of ta-do about nothing is what I am thinking. The lions share of these guys are just like you and me. If you treat them with a lil respect they will do the same for you. Most of the 1%'rs do not go looking for trouble with the general public.

IMHO Leaving too much space between riders in a formation like that is more dangerous. Idiots in cages (cars) will pull into your formation and then you have more trouble than if you keep the lines tight.

Take care and N Joy the Ride././Jimbo

Crips ? Bloods ? Surenos ?

Don't they have the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and the ACLU in their corner ?

Law Enforcement to this degree (some call it harassment) would have been labeled as racism, racial profiling, or what have you, and the lawsuits would fly until the city, county, state capitulates rather than be seen as racists.

I watched the HA special on Gangland on The History Channel this weekend. It's pretty hard-core.

They interviewed a former under-cover agent who had infiltrated the HA for something like 8 years. He said that they were importing something like 40 metric tons (40,000,000 kilos) of cocaine at a time!

In the interview with the owner of the Lost Isle (the HAs HQ) he mentioned that not a single cup or cigarette butt was found on the property only tire tracks ,,,with the weather we had last week I dont expect they will be back for a while

Law Enforcement did a fine job of showing a strong presence and it was pretty uneventfull here at the Bear

On Saturday and early Sunday, officers from all agencies made 210 traffic stops in Carlton and southern St. Louis County. Those stops resulted in 79 citations, only two of which involved Hells Angels members, Carlton County Sheriff Kelly Lake said.

Yawn tired

    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
    • Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe.  I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho.  Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
    • The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there.  About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
    • It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway.  Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work.  You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water.  When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
    • We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
    • I've been out on the flats. It's like being on a different planet
