Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Green box unit that works. I used it for finding depths on ice. Not sure if it shows fish tho.

I would like to give it to someone who is just starting out with ice fishing. I used this unit when I first started out and had no electronics. bacon13 at gmail dot com

I would like it to go with my fishing theme "man room", but don't want to take it from someone that might use it.

I think it's cool and if nobody takes it I will for sure.

That's terrific to see someone giving the gift of ice fishing advancement. dtro-I've been looking for one for the same purpose. I found a couple online, but didn't want to pay shipping grin. Guess I better hurry before people catch on to their antique value!

Guilty also

I remember my grandpa trying to explain that thing to me when I was a young lad. It didn't make any sense at the time. Now I don't know how I would fish without a flasher!

My dad has one of those that we haven't used in probably 10 years. It worked great for trolling and locating weed beds, marking the occasional fish. I started with it on the ice, but I couldn't pick up my jigs with it, but it definitely marked fish when set properly. The "green box" takes me back to some good times with dad!

I also remember the days when gramps taught me how to use it. It will be in the garage as a summer back up unit till I die(Or no longer can fish)

    • Sat on a different property yesterday morning. With the recent snow melt I can finally drive close to it. I sat until 11:00. Had gobbling near me most of the morning. Finally about 9:00  4 jakes and a hen came out to the field followed by 2 large Toms and another hen. The jakes came cruising in to me dekes. Got as close as 7 yards but the big Toms kept there distance. I don't think they liked my strutter decoy. It is one that spins and the tail raises/lowers. Might be a bit to aggressive for this early season. They eventually walked off with the hen following them., never getting closer then 75 yards. Depending on this rain I might get out this evening/otherwise will have to wait until Friday/Saturday morning with my son...
    • I hear you! Tough luck!
    • Well the big tom slipped away from me Man He was big be was coming i ti my decoys but the hens went the otherway and he turned and followed  i drew back and almost gave it a shot but it was a wierd angle on one knee and i decided to not    i will get him friday when i go out next
    • The strange part is the better teams/points we had in the standings the worse we looked in the playoffs. It is probably a good thing to get some new eyes on the team and see what happens. I think someone else will scoop up Fletcher fairly soon, like players and coaches sometimes a change of scenery is in order.
    • red polls and purple finches here daily for a while now. not many house finches.  brown headed cowbirds are here. flickers. Saw a vireo yesturday.
    • Here are some pictures from my hunt.
    • I have not seen a redpoll in over a week
    • The finger needed to be pointed in his direction, after a few coaches got it first.  I keep reflecting back on the team of 2002-2003, Marion led the bunch in points but the rest was either rookies,  hand me downs and two goalies that got hot. Throw in guys that weren't afraid with lots of heart and they made it work..
    • Same here I set the blind where they like to be. Even if that is in the middle of a 500 acre sod field.
    • It just gives me more time to pass on the addiction to anyone I can be to come out.
