goblueM
Finally got my Driftless trout fishing fix, made me miss it even more. About 10 hours of fishing, we stopped taking pics of 14-16 inch browns, must have caught about 40 of em in that size range. We were really hoping to crack 20 inches, but came just shy with a 19 3/4 and a 19 1/2. And a couple 18s. Lost a 23 or so inch pig at the net when it bent the hooks out, was pretty devastating. goblueM
I don't know what you're talking about, I was very responsible Yeah at one point I caught 4 fish in 5 casts, although one was a dirty ol smallmouth bass
hookncook
I know a girl on facebook that constantly catches monster trout. I ask her to share her photos here or in another forum I visit; but she's too modest. She just wants to fish. There are some big 'uns out there. Driftless
Buddy Al Macey caught these two this afternoon in the bright sunlight Both on the black wooly bugger with the gold ribbing. Cellphones in bright sunlight don't mesh well.

Antero
For the most part my Colorado stream trout season is over, I have October commitments that will keep me off the water. I do hope to get out a bit but the later in the yr it gets the less water I will have to target. The following for those interested is a brief review of the yr, Last winter we had very little mountain snow, that coupled with hardly any rain resulted in very low stream flows and yr long crystal clear, warm water. This made it tough for me. I caught lots (over 450) of trout, mostly small, real small. I did manage to catch some quality fish on the Frying Pan, the Roaring Fork, the Crystal, the Taylor and the Arkansas Rivers. My home stream, the South Platte was pathetic for me. In past high water yrs I have caught many 20" plus fish here , this yr? None over 16. To say the least, depressing. This I blame on the lack of water, right now there is no spawning run as in past yrs. Finally my wife and I did get to the Arkansas the last couple of days, we caught 73, 1 rainbow, the rest brownies. Most were quality Ark fish, between 13 and 15 inches with a few a bit bigger. We were in Big Horn Sheep canyon so the scenery was as spectacular as the fishing. Congrats to all on their success this yr and to those who struggled good luck next yr. By the way I fished the driftless area of Wisconsin for many yrs and i do not recall as many big fish as you folks are catching now. Good job!
