i HATE TRAILER LIGHTING............

Ryan_V

Question

what I have going on now is I noticed that when I turn the running lights, signal, or brake on.....the same filament in the bulb is lighting. is that an issue from the original wiring from the factory??? looks like I'll be shelling out some money for someone to redo this thing for me mad I'm done messing with it, gonna rip it all out and start from scratch and have it done right!!

Last time I had a trailerlighting issue it was the GM connection on the back of my truck and not the trailer. I found that out after I replaced all of the wiring on the trialer. But yes most of the time it is ground realted.

All very good answers. As MNice suggested, it's usually a grounding problem. I also recommend if your going to redo the wiring to put LED's on if don't have any already. Well worth the investment. Try looking through auction sites for a deal.

I had the same issue as toughguy did. This was after I replaced all of the wiring. Hitchn'Post figured it out for me and replaced that connector deal. Since then just some bulbs went out.

I feel for ya - I've been there and it ain't purdy.
