We went out friday night and it started off slow. We hit a spot that is normally pretty decent before midnight but only ended up with 2 around 10 pounds. So we moved up to another spot and sat there from mid night to 8:00 am ended up with 2 runs throughout the night one that was on and bent the eye on are gamakatsu 8/0 nickle plated hook. and the other one was missed. Come around 5:45 one of the rods took off screaming, before I could crawl out of my chair the other guy in the boat grabbed in and set the hook. ended up being a 41x28 1/2. then ten minnutes later the smae pole went off, This time I was Ready. Hooked up and landed a 44x29. all and all had another good weekend.

If I could get a lil' help with this whole picture posting deal I will put up the pics

Its good to see the big fish starting to bite again.

From just browsing the forums here, I need to ask... "Did they ever stop?"

I'm quite surprised by the number of large fish photos still showing up continuing through "the spawn". In fact a lot of the photos are showing fish that are coming out of the spawn ( = early spawn this year).

Seams like if you aren't getting them, someone else is.

I think this year the goofy weather/water levels spread out the spawn. Let’s be honest here, most of what we think is a guess when it comes to the spawn. It’s not like Bass where you can sight these fish and know exactly what they are doing. Most of it is still a mystery to us and we can only base our assumptions on physical evidence and or a slow bite.

Based on fish that I’ve seen the in past week, I think we still have fish that haven’t spawned yet, fish that are currently spawning, and fish that are post spawn. I have yet to see or hear about a fish dumping eggs in the boat yet. You cannot get any better evidence than that.

I have noticed that as well, but I am blaming my lack of catching no big ones for a couple weeks on the spawn, because there is no other good reason whistle

I vagely remember the sound of a boat motor bye us. I tink it twas a combo of a few cocktails and the back to back full night on the river! sleep. That sleeping bag was felling pretty darn good. How did you guys end up?

HA, I thought so. I swung the spotlight over and didn't see anyone in the boat laugh

The darn Gar wouldn't leave us alone down there. Kept us busy for sure, but not the kind of busy I like.
