I think it all depends on how you look at it. Mark is a tournament anglers and he has to know about transporting fish and the laws that are with it. But then again how can you think clearly when you catch a big fish like that!!!! I agree i think Mark was trying to do the right thing.

How would you turn a record into financial profit, especially if you aren't sponsored

If the lake has any resorts, I'm sure they'd gladly pay you to say it came out of their camp, or at least use the photos in their guides/pamphlets. Any lure company would also like to put a state record on the resume for whatever bait you were using.

Only problem is whenever someone asks you to tell the story of how you caught it, you might sound like a radio advertisement...
