then the next ? would be does anyone have a comfortable insulated rubber boot that they would recommend.....I had originaly bought a pair of knee highs from Cabela's that were 800 gram thinsulate and I thought they were awesome but they developed a leak (can't figure out where) and I can't get them to dry out and they stink!!

The beauty with Mucks is that they're very light. If you do any amount of walking where you need knee-highs, you'll really appreciate them. I own an older pair of Lacrosse 1200 gram knee-high rubbers as well and although maybe more durable, I find myself wearing the Mucks 9/10. The "clunkers" have become my ice fishing boots. I know a few who praise their Danner's highly. Might be something to check out as well. I know little about them.

I like my muck boots for how light, warm, and comfortable they are. Not sure if I'd wear them pheasant hunting as I've heard they can get ripped easily....but so far they have been good boots for my needs. If you do any shore fishing or canoing they are great....probably be good for fishing late ice too.

While I have not tried the boot version from Muck, I have used their "clog/shoe" version for trips to the Boundary Waters. I have to say that they have become my favorite up north shoe as they appear to be very durable as well as being relatively slip resistant on wet rocks. We have sold this brand at our garden center and have had nothing but positive reviews.

I bought a pair of "chore" muck boots. They were for bowhunting, but I started wearing them at work (pipelayer-underground excavation). Now the sides started to tear. I wouldn't buy them for work.

Though I am happy enough with them to buy a set of Arctic Mucks next year stricly for fishing smile

awesome thanks guys I think I will buy a pair and give them a try although $145 is a steep price for rubber boots I will usually have bibs over them while hunting and ice fishing so then I think they should hold up...just got to be careful when using the auger!!

You can save at least $35 if you shop the bay.

Just saw some new size 11 for $95 with free shipping.

I would suggest Kamik Goliaths. All rubber insulated boots. Duck hunted Devils Lake for three days in early November in a blizzard, fish mainly out of a house on the ice all hardwater season and have never gotten cold feet. Their tall with a draw string around the top. I only wear a single medium sock. Have had them for three years and they look like new.

Have to take the liner out every once in a awhile to dry out being rubber they do cause the feet to sweat during active use

I got a pair this year in the fall and they are a nice boot.

One thing though, the feet sweat and if your on the ice not active your feet will get cold by the end of the day. I like them because they are light and easy to get on and off. I put a lot of miles on them for work and play and are holding up fine. I have a few punctures from tree branches and such.

I love my Muck boots and they have proven very durable in all kinds of conditions. I hunt with mine (fish too) and they have covered all kinds of terrain including barbed wire smile

I don't wear them if it is colder than 20 degrees out fishing if I'm planning on sitting in one spot.

Im on year five with my Mucks. I use them year round for bow hunting, ice fishing, four wheeling etc. I havent put my icemen on since I bought my Mucks. I hunt and fish alot and not even a minor tear in them.

I think Yaktrax gippers are made for them too. The rubber straps fit in the groves on the mucks perfect.

Buy a pair... you wont be disapointed.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
