Blue Gills in ground pretzels

I went out and found some nice Gills today, came home and had no shore lunch (black box is my favorite). I cant remember where I seen this, but I had a bag of pretzels. I deep fried them after soaking in milk. I didn't add anything but pretzels. MAN THAT WAS GOOD! If this is where I seen that recipe I love to give credit to you...if not..I just had to share.

We were out of eggs too. Corn flakes and oatmeal sounds good.

Just crunch up the corn flakes first and then put some oatmeal in it. We ran out of stuff too once and came up with that one. We made pancakes out of cornbread mix before as well and they turned out great. They were so sweet you just had to add a little butter and enjoy. It is interesting the stuff one might substitute when cooking.

If you like them in corn flackes,

you should try em in Frosted Flakes. "Fish Candy"

I'd be hesitant because of the sugar.

Another is Cajun seasoned fish. Talk about wonderful.

Would like to also know if you guys use tarter sauce, lemon, or plain? Just curious, personally I like a little lemon.

My mother-in-law used to bake them in potato chips or corn flakes which were both really good. I usually fall back on Shorelunch with some instant potato flakes added for crunch and some Old Bay for flavoring.

Used to go on an annual fishing trip and one guy every year was responsible for cooking a meal of fish and his specialty was in Ritz crackers. Man those were good maybe even more as I wasn't doing the cooking that day.

Wife is a huge cocktail sauce fan and she has converted me to both tarter and cocktail on my fish. That extra zip from the cocktail is good.

I like the pretzel idea and will be giving that one a shot.

Here's one that I have heard of and sounds good:

Mix equal parts regular and cajun shore lunch. Add crushed corn flakes. Dip fillets in egg or milk and roll in mixture.

I also tried crushed cool ranch doritos, which were highly recommended but did't care for it as they doritos seemed to take a burned taste even though the oil wasnt too hot.
