Thursday weather coming in?

I was contemplating fishing the St Croix tomorrow (Thurs)afternoon but with this (alledged) 6" of snow coming in, wondered how that would effect the fishing. Your thoughts?

I've had some of the best fishing I've ever had during a snow storm. I'm heading out tomorrow.

There is only one way to find out for sure how fishing will be . You have alot better of a chance to catch fish when fishing then you do sitting at home.

thats what i would do!! no sense in sitting at home wondering if the fish are biting? i would be going myself but i think i might spend some quality time with my sled. hopefully school is close though.

I would think it would turn them on, before the storm anyway... to bad I will be plowing and not fishing

I'll be out there. Hopefully in the morning But I'll be out there. My gut tells me its going to turn on.

The snowing will make it peacfull and the wind will remind us were in the elements not waisting away inside a plush building.

Think the ice on the St Croix is still thick enough to support the F350?

2 ft of ice should have no problems. Though I did read an earlier report ice was getting thinner by the high lines and power plant discharge. I was out today didnt go that far up but everywhere else was at least 2 ft of ice maybe more.

Yeah that's what I thought. I will likely fish the south area coming out of the Bayport Marina. I was out briefly on Monday and ice conditions were excellent.

I too have had some of the best fishing before and during snow storms and low pressures. If possible I would try and get out there ahead of the storm, because the beginning of the front when the pressure starts to drop seems to be some of the hottest. But when it is snowing I have also had really good luck too. One storm around New Years it started snowing real hard well I was out. It was snowing so hard I couldn't see a 1/4 mile. The pan fish were hitting so hard I couldn't keep my line down with out getting a hit all day. If I get the chance I will be out for sure.

Well I hope I have a day like that "South Metro". I hope to get out before the storm kicks into gear (around noon if you believe the local weather heads), but likely, I'll get out about 2pm.
