don't let them freeze in the first place. empty water softner salt bags work very good for keeping fish in. sometimes freezing can't be avoided, in this case, let them sit in the sink until soft enough to clean.............tom fellegy

If you are on long week or weekend freezing is required to keep fish from spoiling. When I leave say Red lake for home i fill the bucket of fish with water and place in back seat of truck. When you arrive at home they will be ready to fillet. Otherwise when getting home palce in your wash tub in luke warm water until thawed out.

Hey, like they say on the Soprano's. "You gota do whatcha gota do"! Some fishing outtings last hours, some last days, keep in water, freeze, thaw, refreeze, what ever! You spent time and money on them, just don't waste um! frown

LOW and Red require you to keep your fish unfrozen in order to be measured. Red is the only lake I've heard of anyone being hassled but any lake with a slot could see you with a ticket for frozen fish.
