Just got in. Skunked tonight but that just makes me want to go again tomorrow night. It is a good thing I am retired - trying to catch you guys in the Green is going to be a full time job for the next month. I'm after you all now though - if you look in your rearview mirror you can see me coming up the river.

I think we have passed a turning point on the season. It was cold coming off the water tonight. I wore my long johns and I was glad I did. Hopefully the flats are going to put on the feedbag in September - at least long enough for me to catch a big one.

Thanks Gordie, gonna go drown some bully's tonight. Got a few trips left in me, then I slowly start my transition to the sturgeon. Can't wait for that to pick up. Good luck to all that go out, should be a good night.

Also nice bump up for HotPocket. I didn't think 230 was feasible, now I think otherwise.

Good Job guys!

The 229.5 is a great achievement itself, but look at some of the other numbers, just to get in the top 10 you need better then 215, you need better then 221 to get into the top 5, that there is a lot of big fish that have been caught this year, and lots of hours on the water to get them. Lets break that down by the weight chart.

229.5 averages 3 fish at close to 50 pounds!

221 averages 3 fish about 47 pounds

215 averages 3 fish about 43 pounds

I hope this trend of increasing numbers continues into next year and beyond. It all starts with us, and CPR!

Well the month of Aug. I only fished 6 nights, and the way sept. is looking it will be less. So technically I am not throwing in the towel, but it will be close. Gordie if you, or anyone else knocks me out of the green you will have earned it. Regardless, I still had a very good year.

Well as of right now, I have two daughters in volleyball and they play every Monday, Wednesday and every other Saturday. I have a son in football which is every Tuesday, Thursday, and every Saturday. So that leaves me with Fridays and Sundays until November, and I think the wife made a plan or two on a couple of those nights.

Plus I have a coon dog that needs training time, and a pheasant/duck dog that needs to be worked with. I am sure I will sneak out a few nights after games or practices.

It is tough fishing out there right now, but I will be trying to upgrade until the eye's start. I usually go mon, wed, or thursday, if anyone wants to hop in.

Ed I think I'll take you up on that for next week like on Wed. or thur. if your headed out.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
