2009 Bass Tournaments

Dude, how do we make for a free site if we allow anyone to post a link to their site for free? If we can crack that nut, we can open up the forums to anything (maybe not vulgarity and porn). So, you see, it really isn't censorship. It's really just us lowly, unpaid mods trying to keep a site free and friendly for all.

As Ray said, if such a sight existed, it would probably be a pay sight. As Ray said, we are volunteers, so be easy on us please.

You mods do a great job here! No complaints there. You are just following policy.

There are tons of free forums out there for other topics that survive on sponsors/advertisers/donors and have very limited censorship. No porn or vulgarity, but you can post links and speak your mind without being censored. Don't get me wrong, I love fishingminnesota.com but I think the level of censorship is bit overboard. Just my opinion smile

Heck, the guy wants to know where to find 2009 bass fishing tournaments and there is ONE HSOforum out there that does a darn good job of it. Its just a shame that we can't post the link or mention how to find the information he wants. I feel like FM.com won't allow anything on the forums that might help another business or individual without getting "their share" of the pie.

But those sites don't run on some very husky servers to handle 20,000+ visitors a day. I have no idea what the hit count is on this site, but it would tax a little old 2003 Server hosting a PHP site. This thing does cost money to run.

So, we don't allow links. We need the money. Read that sentence again - we don't allow links. I didn't say we couldn't mention classical bass sites. grin

i didn't even think we could say google

we are not suppose to direct people to other sites of any kind are we.

That being said i thank you RAY AND DEITZ for your commonsense on this and having much grace and still looking out for your sponsors.

Ike,

We can certainly make reference to the fact that there are other resources. We just can't provide a direct link. Do a search with your tool of choice and you will find that site. It's a great informational site. And, we all talk about products which are not sponsors here. We'll always talk about our site's sponsors first where appropriate because they help keep this site alive. But, I'll never hesitate to mention products like Mr. Twister, Gamma line, Power Pro line, or Shimano reels - products that I use because they work for me. That's the beauty of this site. Everything is open to discussion and if you look through the back threads you'll see tons of references to other sites.

Listen, I am no pro. I am not even that good a fisherman. But, I do a little extra on this site because I get a heck of lot free information from you guys and figure the best way I can give back is to stay as involved as I can. That's about all there is to it. Just keep doing what we're doing and Deitz will keep us all in check. grin

Ray and Dietz I'm still alive grin...doing well in Sartell.

There is now two pages on this topic and not once has anyone answered my question. Were could I get information on the number of bass tournaments held in MN for the 2009 summer?

Thanks guys!

You are asking a question that no one HSOforum has the answers, there are two websites that cover bass tournaments in MN. Do a web search of tournamnets in MN Both are open submission web sites, that means the directors or the angler's fishing the tournaments submit the schedules. That being said not all bass tournaments sumit there schedules. Also there are many leagues that fall into a no D.N.R. permit needed class, also there are two federations in MN the two are the T.B.F and the MNBFN these two organizations do not get permits except for there State Championships. Your best bet to get all the permitted bass tournaments in MN is contact the MN DNR and request all permits for the year (I beleive it cost $10.00) go thru all the permits and count how many are bass tournaments.

The last number I heard for 2008 (If i remember correctly) was 480 open water permits. These are all not bass tournaments.
