Dang, nice fish Deitz! Just a quick question, if you're only in 4 FOW, are you still fishing the dropshot rig vertical, or do you toss it out a ways? I've never tried drop shotting, but I picked up some tackle the other day and was gonna try it soon.

Paul, yes I do try and cast it a bit aways from the boat. Not as far as you would say a regular cast, but if in shallow water you do want to cast it away from the boat a bit. I used the drop shot rig more for the fact taht there was a muck covering the rock that the sinker would pick up, but the lure would still come back clean.

I cant believe it.. guy guides 2 guys to their biggest smallies and I get no love or no cookies..

BTW, the top pict does not do the fish justice... it was all of 19.25 inches and was the fattest smallie I have ever seen and pushed the scales to 4.5lbs.

Thanks Margie

Dietz was given Cookies (He is great guide and we had many laughs that makes fishing that much better)

Thanks again!!

Nice fish Muddog, good looking smallies roughfish.

I havent put any pictures up lately so I throw one into the mix, not the biggest fish but I liked the way the picture turned out. It wasnt raining in this picture but it was about too, Ive never fished in as much rain as yesterday, at one point I caught 3 bass in 3 casts on a spinnerbait in the hard-stems.

Just got back from a few days up at the cabin and went searching for some bucketmouths. Ended up catching quite a few, with most being 14-16" with a few 17-19".
