Just Big Muskies DVD's

Recommended Posts

It's got a lot of really big fish on it. However, the camera typically doesn't get turned on until after the fish hits, so you must see the fish get reeled in, unhooked, and released. I like the hit and the chase before the hit best, so I didn't get much from it...

Its for sure a personal highlight film, they try to teach you a little bit about what there doing but they don't do a very good job of it. But if you want to see some big fish they are in there. The 2007 video has a cap cam and some live strike while trolling that are pretty cool so it seems there videos are getting better. Your not kidding bout that season Eric Jacabson had just unbelivable.

Hi guys,

Thanks for bringing up the topic. The videos were really meant to be entertaining and highlight the big muskies. But thru the process, we’ve gotten feedback from people that wanted more information about how we caught the fish. So with each release we’ve tried to give more information. Our slogan is “We’re all about the fish”. So we’d really like to keep the focus of the videos on the fish.

If there’s anyone out there that was disappointed in an earlier video and would like to exchange it for a copy of Volume 4.

Thanks again,

Erik Jacobson

Erik, cool to see you posting here.

I enjoyed the videos. I believe I saw volume 2 and 4. I also felt like there was an educational value in them, although I wish I knew where you were trolling those crankbaits in the fall at night (hehe)? You all have to realize that Brian and Erik did the filming themselves, they did not have a designated film guy like on Badfish. As Mille Lacs being one of my favorite lakes, it's pretty cool to see.

How did you do this last year Erik? I talked to Brian at a gas station up by Mille Lacs during the August full moon and he said he didn't catch a fish all year. You guys get a enough footage for a new video?

Awesome videos.

I really don't understand the criticisms or demands for a more informational product.

You know the lakes, lures, locations, time of years, etc. What more information could a guy want?

I also love the rips when I guarantee the JBM guys were catching 40# fish from MN before 95% of the current muskie fishermen had even picked up a muskie rod. You have to respect guys that figured it out on their own.

Volume 4 is spectacular. 10 fish over 50, a 55 and one pushing 50# and one over, by two guys in one year on film?! Incredible! Plus it has (really good in my opinion) original music by Eric's former band.

Not as exciting as Muskies on the Shield? MotS is a snoozer compared to JBM.

I will buy a video every year you guys make one.

Thanks Eric!

Erik cool to see you posting here. I have no regrets in any of the videos I purchased, I enjoyed all of them and love to watch them because they get me pumped up to go fish. I did see on your HSOforum though the only way to get Volume 1 is to order 2,3,4 I bought 2,3,4 at gander not knowing this. Is there anyway I could get a Email or a way to get or purchase a Volume 1 I would love to see it.

Hey,

Cool man, thank you. You know where we're night trolling in the fall.....on the reefs with all the walleye guys! One night we caught one in front of some walleye guys and they said "bet that surprised ya, uh?" I just played along, pretty funny. They had no idea we that we were actually fishing for them.

Boy, as far as last year.....Yikes! It was really non-existent compared to the year before. Month after month I kept waiting for it to happen and the season just passed me by. I was being stubborn and not letting go of ML. But I did hear it was down all over..... No Video this year :<( but we got some stuff, just not enough. Brian got a couple nice ones.

Thanks for the kind words,

Erik

We sold a lot of V1's, but after V2 came out we got some critisism about repeating some of the Mille Lacs fish from V1 on to V2 "Just Mille Lacs", even though we added additional info to the clips as to how the fish were caught. As a result, we began to shy away from selling it and used it for promotional purposes, like the one on the web.

Email us thru the HSOforum and we'll take care of you.

Thanks!

I can also tell you what type guys they are. While deployed to Iraq, they sent me all the videos to keep me entertained until I could get back and actually fish! Thought I would about wear them out before I got home. Still watch them, cause anything with Muskies is better than something without!!!

Thanks again Erik!!!!!

Bret-

Thanks to guys like you, we can all enjoy the freedom - and the sport of fishing - we all love so much. Next time anyone has a frustrating time on the water, think about Bret and the rest of our veterans, and hopefully that will put things in perspective.

You've got a lifetime pass for our video's my friend.

Erik
