FYI, Current state record pumpkinseed is only 1#5.6oz.

It was 10.1".

Assuming yours wasn't a hybrid, looks like you had it beat.

Does look to be a cross and not a full Pumpkinseed based on the coloring and lack of red ear marking.

Either way, I threw it back. I told my brother about it(he works for the fisheries dept.) and he said that I might have thrown the state record back, and he told me of another lake where they shocked some big ol pumpkinseeds, they were pushing the state record size too... I'm going to have to go investigate that lake now

This is a friend of mine that moved to NoDak and caught this beast of a bluegill it was 12.5 inches long and weighed 2lb 6oz

Jim We gotta head over that way sometime for some of those bull sunnies. My buddy told me that a guy had one that coverd a the bottom of a 5 gal bucket.

Took my Nephew from Utah out for his first fishing experience in a boat. He boated the first one of the day on a bobber set! He kept getting them all day with that setup and actually out fished us but my buddy and I were jigging bigger ones off the bottom like walleyes; what a blast; hook set, rod bend, and head shake; like no other crappie fishing I have had. We kept a limit in the 10-12" range and released the bigger ones. Pic of my nephew with the first one.

Actually, I've grown fond of that girly color, ever since I made fun of my buddies pink airplane jig up on the red river chasing greenbacks a few winters ago, I ended up borrowing one from him and catching a 31.5" 12 pound walleye and have since refrained from giving anyone carp for using that color

quadfisherman, I haven't fished it for 5 years, and that was in the winter chasing northerns. I wouldn't mind giving it a whirl sometime, but my goodness there is a lot of lakes around here
