Sifty
Just read Randy Moss will be starting a Truck team. This sould be intesting. Your thoughts?Sifty
Macgyver55
My thoughts? I just wonder if he will "play when he wants to play" or give the team his best all the time. Or, how long his driver would last if he said the same to him! Ever since he made that stupid statement he went right to the bottom of my list. MUSKYMAN1011
Macgyver55, you only wish you could "PLAY" like Randy! Randy is one of the "BEST" if not the "BEST" receiver ever to "PLAY" the game!! PERIOD ! If his NASCAR Truck plays like Randy...it will be very short perod before they are "WINNING" !
Meaney
BEST....BEST.... are you kidding me. no way! He is a good receiver yes, but I will still say Jerry Rice to be the best
Meaney
oh, but back on the subject.... if hes got the money to start a team I say more power to him.

I'm not questioning his ability to play, its obvious he can, IF AND WHEN HE WANTS TO! What a pompus, childlike attitude! If he applies the same ethic to racing he will end up nowhere near the top. He will be "running" against people who have both brains and money, not just money. Running a race is a far cry from running a football. Time will tell if he has grown up enough to run with the big boys.....
harvey lee
I agree Macgyver, he may have the money to hire a team and crew chief but, how long will they work for him and the way he operates????
Juneau4
If your going to talk about his playing ability go to the F.B. forum. Ownership: J.G did it with Chev's and is now doing it with The Toy's.

Johnsonator
I read this on Jayski.com a couple days ago and was blown away. I never thought that he would be involved in racing. I hope he does well. It is always good to get new teams involved that do well and not just race a few years and fade away.

Joe is a mangager type and it would appear that he is good with working with different types of people. Randy might have serious issues with this with his attitude. candiru
Is this truck going to be going around the track with a Nascar official on the hood?

DitchPickle13
But seriously, like someone else said, more power to him if he wants to get involved in the truck series.

Juneau4
I'm trying to figure out how to put the quotes in so please excuise all my screw ups. Harvey I agree, I just didn't want playing ability to be envolved with ownership.
VMS
do any of you REALLY think he has the MIND to be a SUCCESSFUL owner of a Truck TEAM? This is a guy who, by virtue of his football talent made it into college, and somehow managed to make it to the NFL, where he now makes a bunch of money. I'll bet his GPA in college was only high enough to keep him eligible to play and not lose scholarship money. Does ANYONE know what his degree is in? Does he even have a Degree? Ya'll think he has ANY ability in the realm of business and actually using his mind?!!The guy is a threat on the football field when he wants to be, but on the track, he'll wash out like rubber does during a rainstorm...Steve
DitchPickle13
"Straight Cash Homey," that's all he needs to do this. I don't disagree (VMS) with your statements on his entrepreneurial abilities, but I doubt he'll be doing much beyond providing the $ for a smart racing mind to make any decisions with substantial implications for the team. VMS
O.K...so..let's say he's only supplying $$ support for the team. Couldn't you just see this one happening: Picture his team winning a race...he shows up in victory lane and mock "moons" the crowd because he won.. or worse yet..gets a tatoo in place and moons the tatoo... I suppose it would be "advertising" :-)Steve
Double D
Ditchpickle got it right on the head. He has the one main credential for being a team owner - cash. I doubt he would be at even half the races.DD

I agree. Much like Aikman with Hall of Fame Motorsports. He's the moneyman.
Johnsonator
I agree with LMITOUT, have you ever seen anyone from Hall of Fame Motorsports on TV at the track. He does not need to be fully involved like Joe Gibbs to be a team owner. Think of all the team owners out there, a very small percentage of them are actually in the spotlight making decisions in the public. If he wants to spend the cash to race, I am all for it, the more competition the better in my mind. That is what makes racing great. Teams got to start somewhere, and every team has started where randy is right now. I don't care who starts the team, any new team is fine with me. If they fail, they fail and everybody will make fun of them anyway.
PierBridge
I don't understand where he is getting the money for this. I'd bet he's not in the top 100 for personal wealth as far as athletes go!He must have some serious backers!
