Everyone be sure to check the WI DNR web site to see if your lake is on the spearing list. Bag limits are reduced on these lakes, so as the native spearers have enough time to fill there bellys and they are hunger. Good luck, be safe and hope for warm weather.

Didn't catch a fish. Marked them on a break from 10 to 20 feet (same break they camp all winter) but everything was glued to the bottom. Didn't see a single fish boated all weekend (including other boats we had talked with).

Fished a few hours Sat afternoon - first fish of the day was a 13" crappie. We ended up with 13 more nice crappies plus a perch, threw back a little cigar. Was slow but steady, found the warmest water and found fish. This was on Altoona....didn't fish Wissota but heard of some respectable catches.

We did great on both Sat and Sun. Didn't bother fishing the morning but did fish HARD from 3 to 9 each night on the Gile Flowage in Iron County. All nice fish from 17-24. Casting # rap in 3-5 feet of water.
