For a guy to make the most cuts says a lot about him, it says that the guy can catch fish and when i comes down to the Classic sometime a lot of guys can't catch fish under pressure. Or maybe he is just a fan of the guy!!! Either way the guys price might be on the rise

Cliff Pace is a solid angler who had a great 2007. My last pick in one of my leagues was between him and Chris Lane (similar price) and I went with Lane because of the smack he'd been talking about the fish he was on. That one burnt me good.

CB was right. Pace only missed 1 cut (2nd day cut that is, not top 12 3rd day cut) in 2007, which was a 93rd place bomb. Although he barely made a few cuts (finished 49th in 3 events, and 42 and 40 in 2 others), he still made them. The only other angler who can claim to have only missed 1 cut in 2007 is KVD (just barely at 55th place).

In 2006 Russ Lane was the only angler to make EVERY single cut. He had a great year, but struggled in 2007. Hopefully Pace won't follow trend.

Another interesting fact you might be interested in is that of the top 35 anglers in 2007, Gary Klein was the only one who did not finish in the Top 12 in a Elite event. (Top 35 anglers based on total their ending positions i.e. 1st and 2nd = 3)

I keep trying to explain to my wife how watching fishing on TV has it's benifits. If I keep getting lucky like this, maybe I'll even start to believe it..... Just wish I could fish like I watch TV.....

i think that is what everyone thinks. Those guys do nothing but fishing, so they should be that good. All there time and hard work towards it makes them better and better every year. When you do it all the time, you should be that good.

boy, there was alot of weird people on the top of the leader board for Day one. I hope that some of the guys pick it up. Nice thing is, that you can be in last on day one in Flordia, and after day two, be the leader.

After day one im looking ok, but will see how tomorrow go!!! I need some of my guys to step it up, They said befor the tournament that they were on fish and so far only one of them is!!!

ya, but like i said, the whole thing can turn around today being there fishing in florida. The bottom guys on the leaderboard could have a monster day, which is possible, and turn everythign around on the leaderboards

After watching the weigh in today it's still kinda open, anyone of the guys that are in the top 50 can win this tournament. I have four guys in the top 50 but my man Hudgins better step it up again!!!

After Day 1 Pace had me thinking he might be a good pickup as a steady guy for the year. Hopefully he doesn't replicate Lane's performance the year after he was "Mr Cut Maker". Pace seems like a great guy and would like to see him do well.

So the Fantasy Fishing points still do not match what it states in the rules. The anglers are supposed to get bonus points for 1) leading the day, 2) heavy stringer of the day, 3) big bass of the day and 4) 5 fish limit. So the bad thing is the results aren't matching the rules. I suppose someone could call them on this as maybe this could keep someone from winning a prize? So that is the bad news I guess.

The good news is that the new point systems seems to level the playing field a little. The scoring system before this year heavily weighted the top 2 to 3 finishers. So unless you picked a guy in the top 2 or 3, you really had no shot at winning. Now, if you have a well round team (all in the top 25 lets say), you've still got a good shot even if your best finisher is 4th or 5th. I personally like this.

I made a nice move up today and Schutlz is my only guy who failed to make the cut. If B Lane can stay consistent, Hudgins can bounce back, and Reese and Rook can keep climbing the ladder, I should fare well.

<edited> I made a last minute choice to trade Mark Davis for Hudgins. If only I had traded out Schultz instead. I get caught up in trying to use all of my 50 points rather than picking the 5 best guys I guess. We probably all do.

I stand corrected. They have fixed the scoring system and bonus points are being added in. However the bonus points only count that day. So in reality (and Spear alluded to this before), Days 1-3 dont' really county for squat other than hoping that your guy makes it to the final 12.

i think they have it figured out. I believe there going to have to scoring fixed.

The best part about Flordia is that anyone can win it. Look at yesterday, Bobby Lane(whos on my team haha) was in the bottom half, has a monster day 2, and is right there in 3rd going into today. The key was to make the top 50, and today can be alot different as well.

There is going to be some guys that are on the bottom that are going to have a huge bag today as well and get up in the top 12 for the final 2 days. I have everyone in the top 50 but one, so im shooting that my guys make the top 12.

Yea I agree what is the deal with Hackey!!! He went from being deadly on the water and a guy you never wanted to see behind you on the leader board, to not being able to catch fish. I guess I’ll give him a few weeks before I really start wondering this week is the fishing is tough.

Same here, I had bobby lane on my roster but then which for his brother chirs (who always seems to talk a mad game about how good he is but never does good for me) and someone else so i used all my points. I think it was Mike Wurm!!! Fluker we might be using some of the same source for information, I just need to stop changing my team last minute all the time!!!

im not sitting all that bad, but i should have stuck to guns and got away from VD to go with Chris Lane. I was going to run with both lanes, but stuck with just bobby. Ill settle for this week, which overall is not that bad, but will have to do some changing for the up coming events.
