Well good luck to the giants who are going to get killed

I think the Giants/Pats matchup is a lot better (and will be a better game) then if the Packers made it. Takes away the media Farve hype too.

Now you have a team with a record of 18-0 against a record breaking team with 10 straight road wins. I think it will be fun to watch.

I hope Farve decides soon. This wait wait wait is so stupid. Either say "yes" or "no".

The Packers had a fantastic year...but that last game was not them at their finest...that is for sure.

If he would have made the Super Bowl, I think he would have retired. Now, I think he will try one more time.

Just listening to his press conference on espn I think he might be hanging it up. He said the decision will be quicker than it has been in recent years, so I think he pretty much has his mind made up.

You're definatly right about the hype that would have been around Favre for making it to the Super Bowl. I'm glad I don't have to listen to it.

I think he'll be back.

Live by the sword die by the Sword.

Lets face it he's 12-10 in the win-loss column with a 86 passer rating and 38 TDs along with 28 INT's in the playoffs these are not conducive numbers to winning playoff games let alone Super Bowls probable why the CHOSEN one has only 1 Super Bowl victory.

That is one more than 95% of all the other QBs in NFL history...

And there aren't too many going on 40 year old starters in the NFL... there aren't even too many going on 40 back-ups in the NFL...

He didn't play like we've seen all season, but I think as he get's older, the cold will not be his ally but rather his enemy!

Good Luck!

Ken

And how many Superbowl rings do ANY Viking QB's have???????????????????????????????????

He Has nearly all the records, makes him one of the Best QB's of ALL time. Deffinately top 5.

When the Vikes find someone better you can brag. Last guy the Vikes had that was even in Favres Area code was Fran Tarkington.

I am soooooooooo sick of hearing that from the quackers fans. That is the only come back I ever hear and it's extremely tiring and old. I could give a rat's butt that the Vikes haven't won a title yet, not gonna turn me to a [poor word choice] fan. I respect Favre for what's he's done (especially the role in "Something about Mary") and lets not forget with all the records he also holds the most interseptions. The thing I can't stand about him isn't even him, it's the friggin' comentators. I am so sick of them putting him way up on a peddestal. Is he one of the best? Yes. Can he do no wrong? No. Look yesterday, the team didn't play great, but his over confidence and listening to Madden lost him the game. I so sick of hearing "only Favre can throw that pass". No, only that hillbilly gets lucky enough to connect on it. Course anyone else throws a shuttle once a year, he does it about a hundred times, you should connect now and then.

i love it when someone brings up the super bowl thing. then a vikes fan says something about how that is all packer fans ever say. i guess i don't understand what else there is.

i hope favre retires, rodgers is ready. he can step in and be the best QB in that division.

To no one in particular, let's keep things positive...the thread is about Favre returning for another year, keep opinions and thoughts on topic.

Geez, the Vikes and Pack don't even play and yet people are still ready to start a bar fight!

I'd like to see Favre return for another year, if anything because he's so close and the team should only get better. If it's almost 40 Favre or 20-something Rodgers, I'd take Favre in a heartbeat. He had a great year.

Without a doubt I'd say top 3 for sure IMO.

I was just pointing out some stats like his 3-6 record and 18 interceptions in his last 9 playoff games.

Farve is and will never be GOD!! He has lasted the longest, and I will be the first to say that thats a great thing. But BEST EVER? come on ONE superbowl ring is all he has.Move on, Get over ti, and let Rodgers play. Remember he almost beat Dallas, NOT FARVE!!

Once again everyone, this is not a "how good is Favre, is he the best, Packers are better than the Vikings" thread, it is if he is coming back or not.

IMHO, I believe he will be back for another year. His team (yes his team) is the youngest in the NFL, none of this years players are going anywhere (at this moment) and he obviously knows this team will only get better. Along those lines, IMO, he probably feels like he needs to atone for that bad pass (not bad because it shouldn't have been thrown, but that he didn't get enough on it at that point in the game). He will be back, and if he decides not to, he will go down as one of the top 3 QB's in the history of the game.
