ikeslayer
i looked at these tubes the other day and KVD's picture is on them but they seemed gimicky. But can't imagine KVD is putting his name on gimicks. Anyone used them? Any advantages besides smelling like old Folgers. Would this make setting the hook the best part of waking up. Just wondering if anyone has used them? ike
JP Z
I also kind of wondered this. Is it just a gimmick? personally I will stick with Gulp and Salt.......But at least if you need to bite your worm to shorten it it's not the nastiness that is Gulp. Wayne Ek
I used them last fall on pools 4 % 5. I cashed a check with them.
EBass
Is that Bionix thing KVD uses a gimick? LOL on that last line ike. Now I can't shake that folgers jingle.
JP Z
As Gary Mule Deer Says "the best part of waking up, is just waking up." Folgers for Old Folks jingle.
katoguy
I am not commmenting on coffee tubes, but you can bet that any so-called Pro you see on the major circuits will allow their name on gimmicks for the almighty dollar. KVD is no exception.
TurnUpTheFishing
Seems gimicky to me...From what I hear (I think it was from this site) the story/logic behind it is that someone affiliated with strike king dumped some coffee grounds in the water by accident and a bunch of sunfish were eating the grounds. I guess he began testing of his own with his bass baits and coffee scents.
Daze Off
Never used them but had a bag in my hand the other day and opened it and had to go to Caribou for s shot afterwards ...really pleasant smell - much better than garlic, etc.Probably won't try it - stil haven't tried Gulp....Daze Off

I need to start making Copenhagen-favored tubes, or b.) small sunfish will eat just about anything... I'm sure coffee scented plastics will work for the same reason garlic, anise, strawberry (anyone remember Mann's Jelly Worms) or most other non-fish-food scented plastics do: a.) because they cover up other odors, or b.) because it gives an angler enough confidence in the bait to use the thing... But I may just be a cynic Cheers, Rob Kimm
Ray Esboldt
That's what I need, snoose flavored baits (with nicotine). Then my odds of quitting will be nil. I'll chew on plastics all day.I am kind of iffy on scent in general. Plenty of plastics that I have are fortified with some enhancement, but I never really thought they were any better or worse than the other one. I still think location is more important, presentation is second, and maybe color and flavor are a distant third. But, as I've proven with comments before, I am old school. ikeslayer
hey ray if old school keeps you winning tournaments then i think you are schooling us. I wonder what a bass won't eat.
Saint Paul Dan
I have never used the coffee tubes but I would have to agree with RK. I think one of the main objectives of adding scent is to disguise any scent from the fisherman or other human activity. I only use scented plastics and find myself switching my bait pre-maturally in order to have fresh "juice" on it. With that said, I also had a few scenarios where I ran out of the "hot bait" for that day. I was convinced that I couldn't switch baits, so I just used the old ones off the floor of my boat. Caught my biggest bass of the year using an old beat up worm with no scent. So I think confidence trumps everything. If that means using coffee scented baits, I would use them. I just have a hard time thinking that coffee scented plastics will revolutionize the industry. Dan
JP Z
Maybe the coffee tubes will end up making the fish you catch on them Coffee Addicts? Much like the King of the Hill episode when Hank is using Crack to catch Bass..........The Nicotubes would be very interesting.
Craigums
Crack scented bass tubes? I'd give it a try
ikeslayer
Crack sented yeah and i thought lucky crafts were expensive. ike
Craigums
IF you caught a bass on the crack tubes and threw it back, would it just swim by the side of the boat until it got its next "fix"?
JP Z
It was a good episode if it's on I recommend watching. And yes, the fish when released would just stay by the boat staring at the bait.
