I know it has been really hard to find the new hollow belly's but I just got back from Mills Fleet in St. Cloud and they had a TON of the new hollow belly's. All the colors, $9.99, thought I would pass it on for the people that are looking.

Central, where is the nearest BPS????

I just got some hollow belly's and basstrix in the mail this week and tried them out for the first time this afternoon on a local pond in Iowa. They look like the could catch a few fish \:\) It was still way to cold out there, the ice got off about 3 days ago and I didn't even get a bite on anything I threw. Saw 6 deer, that was my highlight of the afternoon!

Well the Fathead JR and the lucky Strike brand should both be crossed off the lists. The fathead looks like my 9 year old painted it and IMHO has worse action then the Lucky Strike. Picked up a Mission Fish from 316 lures today though ($9.99 for one crazy.gif) they look pretty cool , Haven't water tested yet but have heard good things about them, there also a total hand pour with no stinky paint. Capras has a pretty good selection of swimbaits right now, hard and soft!

Here's a couple that I picked up (custom hand poured). You just might see/hear about a guy fishing a roadside pond, just so I can see the action on these! crazy.gif

5 1/2" long

It should give the fish a little different profile and thump over some current plastics. Adding different weighted hooks makes them versatile for covering different depths and the fact that they get T-rigged gives one a good horizontal presentation to fish through snaggy cover.

I found some golden shiner money minnows at the sports show.

Well.. I wasnt planning on buying any swimbaits unitll maybe later in the year, but I was at Dick's today and picked up two packs of Strike Kings 5.5 inch SHADALICIOUS soft plastic swimbaits for 8 dollars for a 5 pack. They also had about 5 other brands including the one YUM makes.. the money minnow i think.. not sure.

Not much of a swimbait guru here but they sure look sweet and 5 for 8 bucks seems about right for a little experimenting this summer.

What size/type hook would you guys recommed for a 5.5 inch bait.. do you think a 5/0 EWG or weighted 5/0 EWG is big enough? or maybe a 6/0-8/0 size?
