hanson
First Musky! Solid 46"... maybe 47" with a good tail pinch. Caught this bugger on the last night of a 4 day trip to Cass Lake trolling walleyes around 2am in the morning. I hadn't had a darn hit at all pulling cranks even though Borch was pulling the eyes in left and right on the other side of the boat. We slid a little deeper in search of "big fish" so I tied on a Firetiger Husky Jerk 14 to get a little more depth on the trolling run and it didn't take long to run into this big girl! Surprise! Surprise! All of a sudden, 4 nights of pulling cranks into 3am in the morning didn't seam so bad. 4 nights of fishing in the wind and rain wasn't a problem. 4 nights of fishing with the worst cold and fever I've had in a solid year was no big deal. NDSU beat the Gophers Saturday on top of it!
Dan Thiem
Whoa Dude! What a cow. That musta been a real rush eh? Congrats Chris.
Tim_Anderson
Chris,Congrats on a nice fish and a chubby one at that! That's a great first fish. Now don't worry....now that you've got the fever, there'll still be time for those bottom feeders. You can concentrate on those in the spring up on the rainy, get it out of your system (haha), and then concentrate on duplicating the great thrill you just experienced. Way to go! Shack
Jease!!! Looks like the lockness monster! Nice fish Hanson! I tell ya, that crude is going around. I been stuck with it also. Crippled by a family get together at my house this past weekend, I have not been able to get and do much out doors stuff as of late! I am looking out my office window and seeing sun and partly cloudy sky's today. I think I might make up some thing and go home early and head to Mille Lacs! TurnUpTheFishing
Nice fish! Now just switch some of those cat reels over to muskie rods, buy a couple lures and your set.

LOL! Yeah, I hope to dabble a little more with fishing Muskies. This one was a complete accident although our technique lends itself to these accidental catches from time to time. Borch has landed quite a few over the years night trolling cranks for eyes. I do have the muskie reel department covered pretty well, its rods & tackle that I'm going to slowly acquire. Ain't going to happen this fall as I broke the bank on Husky Jerks, Original Floaters, Super Rogues, and Thundersticks. I get excited about big fish, thats why I spend a lot of time Flathead Catfishing, Channel Catting on the Red River, and Sturgeon Fishing on the Rainy & St Croix. Looks like I found another big fish to get after. Gotta tell ya... I still don't think my feet have touched the ground.

cjac
Shhhhh.....that rod is like a wand, just don't tell the Mrs I said that.... love that stick, pink or not! Gotta clean the handle every time I come home! Yeah, hats off to Hanson for sure, impressive fish to say the least, must have been the "cat"-like skills that finessed her in! Fun to see... Rumor has it Borch has the wounds though! Chris

Borch
No biggie. It's the burden I bear for having one of those toothy buggers in my boat. The bugger just must have been in a feeding mood. Goes to show they do like really big baits this time of year.
