Is anyone going to be at the CSI sport show in the cities Sunday thru Tuesday? Just wondering if there is any new products I should be looking at to stock in the fishing shop for Ice or summer 08. Any new items from the sponsors? How about Hanson, or Matt Johnson. Have you guys seen or used any secret lures that I should check out?

For those of you that don't know what the CSI show is. It's a distributor show in the cities this weekend. They will have a ton of ice fishing as well most any summer item for 08 that will be out. This is an invite only show, but I am willing to go check out any product you guys had questions on and report back. CSI is the biggest distibutor in our region, and are grouped with BIG Rock. If it goes in the water there's a good chance it will be there. This is also one of the best shows of the year to grill the reps on tech questions.

I usually have my finger on the pulse pretty good... I really havn't heard a ton of new products. I have heard that Chubby darter is coming out with a new smaller version. People seem excited about that. Otter released a new fish house called "Wild" or something like that. That looks very nice for the money. Aqua-Vu came out with a new affordable underwater ice camera that retails for $99 I think, should sell a lot of those.. and a new light system for some of their high priced cameras that takes care of the particulation(blizzard effect)

Other than that, I really havn't heard too much buzz.. I too would be interested in hearing whats buzzin... Often times companies will wait till the ice shows and try to keep things pretty hush hush.

I agree with Deitz, there just hasn't been much "Buzz" on new stuff.

- The Jason Mitchell Series of rods is not exactly "new", but they are definitely coming onto the scene this year.

- I can't wait to see that new Chubby Darter.

- I also heard Lindy has a jigging spoon that is similar to their Flyer horizontal lures. Its molded around a Colorado blade spinner. I think Jim Hudson knows a little something about these.

- I think Arctic Armor is going to be making a bigger name for themselves this year as well. The product was new last year but they should have a bigger impact this year.

- Marcum has a nice little rod case now.

The Nature Vision Genz series rods have been changed. Now all Gold combos include a 55yd spool of Gamma Ice line.

They've also included a nice dead sticking rod and a standup panfishing stick.

There will now be a 3-man packshack.

And yes the new lindy Rattlin' Flyer is pretty cool have one sitting on my desk.

For the permanent house Market some of the items from Catchcover will be pretty cool. With the new Rattlesnake Rattling reel. And their series of Rod holders.

New items that I have heard about or have seen..

Lindy Rattlin Flyer Spoon.. (No spin on the drop and flutters to the side on the drop, for killer presentations on walleye and perch)

Jason Mitchell rods, with new additions to the line-up (tight lining, spring bobber, outside walleye, sight fishing, deadstick/meatstick, and big fish/mackinaw rods)

Little Atom will have some new glow colors available plus a smaller nuggie(unsure when these will be released, sometime this winter I am sure)

The size 3 Darter

A new sight fishing stick from St. Croix with the Spring Bobber attached...

Insulated portables from Clam and I believe Frabill as well..

The new line-up of rods from Nature Vision and other products as JPZ has mentioned... Those multi-flex rod holders are slick!!!

A new tip-up, called the "Hook Set Tip Up".. The tip up is spring loaded to set the hook for you...

And I am sure I forgot some stuff...

Both Companies make a great camera. I myself just have used the Aqua-Vu products more so I really cant say much about the Marcum units. I will say this.. I have never had a problem with any of the Aqua Vu Cameras I have had. I currently have a Scout XL and love it... here is the press release for the Aqua-Vu FishTV... its going to retail for $99

I was checking these out last night at a sporting goods store that I don't think I can use the name of on this site...

They were just setting up their Ice fishing stuff, and I picked one up moments after it hit the shelves...

There is one MASSIVE flaw with the Fish TV...

It runs on 10 C size batteries for an estimated 6 hours.

You're talking about a cost of $10-$12 in batteries every 6 hours of use... Maybe getting rechargeable C's makes it more cost effective...

Otherwise if given enough time... The cost of the Fish TV will catch up to the standard aquaview camera in what... A year.. .Maybe two? Call it 4-5 with re-chargeable C's, because even they have a diminishing return that leads to replacement.

I'm anxious to get my hands on those Lindy Rattlin' Flyer lures. I saw them for the first time last week in a magazine and apparently they have the same rattle as the Buckshot spoon but with a more dramatic flutter action. If they are as good as the Buckshots they'll be one of my go-to lures this season as the Buckshots have been the ticket the past few years.

Frabill has a new insulated portable fish house that's pretty neat. MarCum also has a few new cameras that are going to light-up the market. Northland Tackle came out with a new line of ice rods too. Jiffy has a new auger too. And I'm sure there will be a pile of new tackle items from various different companies... I won't be at the CSI show, but I'm sure you'll be able to see a lot of the new products at the ice shows coming up next month...

Lindy's new flyers are nice. Marcum has one heck of a camera coming out. Huge screen that is very sharp and can be viewed outside without a shade cover. The flex rod holder that nature vision is selling is a knock off of my yellow plastic rod rocker. The snap cover guy did that last season. They put flex arms on them now. The triple seat flip shack is pretty cool. Like Matt said you will see this stuff at the St Paul Ice Show. Always fun to see new things.

The Fish Tv is already selling well. Agood little camera for $99. As noted you do need to pick up an extra 12volt to run it. Also I wouldn't go out without a tripod. The Mitchelle rods have been out for a year and will start to hurt the other rod sales ther just to good for what they cost(Thanks Mr Salmo) These Tica reels you guys all use must be better than the one I tried a couple years ago so I will dig into them deeper. Little Atom, I will check these out never used them before. Lindy has a great new flyer, these will be a must have for any ice box. The new Darters look awsome. I wish i had the knack for swinging this bait, but I keep going back to ice raps. My old man told me if it aint broke don't fix it. Well that stuck with me on a couple of lures. I will stock every color because Jason/Mr Salmo doesn't make bad lures. I hope there are some custom colors. The pack shack scares me would you serious guys really use that thing? I'm not bashing it, I just think there are alot of other small shacks that would work better. I was wrong once before:)LOL The "Hook Set Tip Up".. Isn't that illegal for us? I don't what the customers coming back at me. And finally for the insulated shack $1000-$1300, Are you guys willing to spend the cash on that shack? No Way for me. I want the best but it isn't a Bennelli. Oh ya Bruce I only stock you rod rocker, and what happend to the phone call you were going to shoot me when you made the summer lure wraps like your ice tackle raps? Still waiting! Fish On guys, When are the lakes going to turn over? I'm going nuts! 62% and holding. I want 50%

LMITOUT - I'm with you that gold buckshot rattle spoon is fantastic for jumbo perch in deep water. The Lindy RF spoon I can see are made in a few of my favorite color/combos I like them in, can't wait to give these a whirl when they hit the shelves.

I think it is going to be hard to keep up with the pace of things that past few years. There have been so many changes the last 5 years and things are so good now I don't know how they can have any hugh changes. Sure a minor change here and there. New companies trying to grab a piece of the market. Really the only thing that has jumped out at me this year is the Marcum new rod case I do believe one of these will be on my back this year. At the same time I have bought a new rod case each of the last 4 years because they is some small improovement that makes it worth have for me. But other than that the wish list is pretty short for me thank god the checkbook is getting tired the last two years grin.gif.

Ice Man, I don't have any new products this eason. I didn't make the bigger Tackle Pouch yet. Minimum runs are pretty big! I want to make sure they would sell.

I can't wait for first ice!

Oh yeah, the fish I caught in the DVD with the Ice-Well were on a private lake by Fosston, MN. The owner wouldn't let us take any off the ice but then again he had one heck of a fish fry for us in his shop!

I got one of those multi-flex rod holders last winter when I picked up a slush bucket (Catch Cover is based here in Hutchinson), but unfortunately never got it installed before the fish house had to be pulled from the lakes. frown.gif Definitely will be a nice addition for holding your jigging rod in the house. I might have to pick up one for the Otter too after seeing how this one is made and built. Nice.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
