Have any of you seen the new Husker Bass Team boat? 520 commanchee...SWEET!

It's in Texas for a tournament this week.

I have some pic's on email, I'll try to post them.

As the "President of the Husker Bass Club" he's competing in the Collegiate Nationals this weekend at Lake Lewisville in Texas. http://www.collegiatebasschampionship.com/uploads/2010/2010%20Championship%20Itinerary_Final.pdf

He put in some effort over the last couple of years, got T.O.'s blessing, and Cabella's - who agreed to sponsor the team, (and front the $ for the boat. It will be on display in the Omaha store between tourneys.) He made the trip to Ranger in Flippin, Arkansas yesterday to pick it up. One understandably excited college kid.

I think it will be the only official collegiate team logo boat in the competition (far as we know - beyond a sticker or two). I'm guessing the event is going to love seeing this thing get launched upon the lake - would seem the bar on 'gear' has just been raised.

A camera team from Versus TV will be riding onboard with them to film the event from a first hand perspective. They've also been asked to shoot the "goin' and gettin' " of the boat - so Boat U.S. will be doing a documentary piece about that using some of the footage.

[PoorWordUsage] good doing it. Here's hoping they hook into some large large mouths - Go Huskers!

got it from a source VERY close to the situation and NE is interested in the big 10, not just for football/sports. There is a lot more revenue sharing across the board for grants, research etc in the neighborhood of 4 million dollars. That would help fund the technology park in the old state fair location. Don't be surprised if it happens.

From everything I've been reading, it wouldn't surprise me in the least. There's a lot more than just football at stake in a conference realignment, and I think that the academic side of it is as appealing as anything else. But we won't know until we know, so we sit and wait.

We'll find out tomorrow for sure, if the reports are accurate. Sure sounds like it's a done deal, though. It'll be interesting to see whether the Big 10 decides to add more teams, or stop at 12. I guess it all depends on Notre stupid Dame.

Considering schedules are "set" for the next couple of years, when would they play in the new conference? Also, isn't it strange that everyone else is now staying in Big 12 minus 2. Was that a ploy? I still think the 'Skers will reap the benefits of Big 10 play. I would like to think the recruiting pool may broaden quite a bit when prospects are dying to play in Michigan Stadium, etc.

Growing up in Big Ten Country I think it is great for the Big Ten...BUT, as a Kansas grad I am not happy with them for messing with the Big 12 and potentially creating a situation where one of the top 3 basketball programs in the country is left without a conference.

I don't think the j-hawks are going anywhere. The Big 12 now has 10 and the Big 10 now has 12. Kooky, but I think the Big 12 will do just fine. Texas and OU sticking around is big medicine. When you are talking basketball, no one gives a carp that Nebraska or Colorado left.

ya read the artical last night on espn, that everyone that is in the conference is going to stay now. Going to run with 10 teams instead of 12

I think this is a great move for Nebraska in all regards. Academics, sports, finance, get out from under Texas' control and yes, for me too. (Grew up in NE now live in northern MN). I think the B12 was and even more so now is on very unstable ground and do not see it staying in tact for too many more years. The football competition will be much stronger with more than just two constant strong teams. I do hate to see the history of the teams we have been playing for years go by the wayside but change can be good and new rivalries will be made. Should be fun!!!

There is a block on the site about cutting and pasting. In the future just type it out like this www dot site name dot com or something like that smile

I saw the Ranger at Cabelas in Omaha the last time I was there. It was pretty sweet. It also made me wish they had something like that when I was in college. Oh well, maybe that is what I will push my kids into when they get that age grin

It was at the Omaha Cabelas a couple of weeks ago, hell of a nice boat and loved the graphics.

Now maybe we can get a Big water boat for Salmon Fishing now that we are a part of the big ten(Lake Superior,Michigan and Erie) that would been a neat new fishing competition!
