rod for lindy rigging

Don't know about everyone else, but my everything rod is a 6', 1/4-1 oz baitcaster rod with a cabelas line counter reel on it. Works great for pulling spinners and lindys with the sensitivity and plenty of backbone to get the logs in. Also works great for pulling cranks. You can also easily duplicate the amount of line you had out when you get a hit just by looking at how much you had out at the time. My favorite rod/reel combo for under 90$

Cabelas has some great 6'6" medium light action rods that are very sensitive. You want sensitivity to feel those light bites. Also use a bait cast trolling rig for deep water when using heavier wieghts.

I am with Perchjerker on this one .A 6.6 or 7 ft spinning rod I think will be the most sensitive as long as it is a IM8 or at least a IM6 graphite. The added length helps with the hookset and if you get a good bite you can drop the rod back further so the fish will not feel you.

I've been using some Salmon hot shot blanks with an extra fast tip and moderate power that work very well for Lindy rigging, bottom bouncing and stick weights. I built them as casting rods and use small Abu C3's with 10lb PowerPro; they've proved to be very sensitive for Walleye and Perch but with enough backbone to handle a decent size Pike (35")

I got my hands on one of these Limet Creek rods last fall and have put them through about every test I can think of. I think the 6'9" Med Lite is the best all around rod for the money. I have used it for rigging some and had no problems detecting bites I also use it for light 3-way rigging live bait and pitching jigs to structure. Not to mention the "over the counter" warranty that isso hard to come by these days.

That all depends on what weights you'll be using.

If you stay with a 1/4 ov. or lighter ML is fine ,should you go with more 1/2 oz.weights than a medium.

I'd reccomend a Grandt 6'6" med. It's hard to beat the lightweightness of these rods plus 58 million modulous in continuos fiber makes them soooo sensitive.
