Meaney
What a way to spice things up in NY...what did you all think of the fight between Montoya and Harvick!!
harvey lee
Emotions and kinda understandable. Harvick recieved a hard hit in the points that could cost him for the final run. He was not happy as I can understand.
Central Bassman
I kind of agree with what Harvick said about Montoya "he always seems to be running over people"... He did take a good hit in the point standing but i think this one wasn’t Montoyas fault someone got into the back of him and got him loss
Sifty
I think he (Montoya) was really trying to block Truxe Jr. I took this one hard as I had Harvick in my other league. Johnson said one thing in common with all the action yesterday was the 42 car. Sifty
harvey lee
I agree Sifty. He was or sure looked like he was blocking Truex. One can and many do block but one must also be ready for the hit if you continue to hold another up with a faster car. Blocking happens all the time and the end result is almost always the same. It's to bad that Harvick took the it in the shorts for something he had nothing to do with.
Scott K
I heard a 3 letter word come from harvick, something like I was going to kick his a$$, wont he get a fine and points taken away for that?
harvey lee
We will see tommorrow. I also heard that word and thought oh boy, the fines a coming.
HOF#13
Yea, I bet Harvik felt a little silly after seeing the replay. However, in another thread, I posted that I thought the wreck was still mainly Juan Pablo's fault as he was running a long 1st gear and was slow on the restarts, so I don't feel too sorry for him. It was fun to watch though!
harvey lee
No fines for either. NASCAR states that it was a argument and not a fight. They also stated that the word $ss is not a word that you get fined for as its ok to use it.

Scott K
I agree that it wasnt a fight, just an arguement. As for the word a$$, I dont agree, It is on daytime tv, I dont allow my kids saying it, so I really dont like them to hear it on public tv. Although there is alot worse on tv then that. LMITOUT
Daytime TV....not really. It was on cable and that's a different catagory according to the FCC. Even if it was on one of the major broadcasting networks, what was said is not considered one of the seven words you cannot say on TV.
metrojoe
42 is a hack! He even said his car had a long first gear so he knew he was slow on the restarts. He should have just given up the spot to Truex. It didn't look like he would have had any problems getting it back once he was up to speed. He took out a lot of good cars. Hack...Hack...Hack!!! lawdog
I saw somewhere around 8-10 guys block into that first corner and Montoya is the only one who got dumped from behind all day, why is that his fault??? Truex just ran him over...
harvey lee
I think the problem might be that his car had a gear with problems and that may have been an issue. Many block and usually one gets tired of the blocking and then punts the dude for holding him up. Might have been the tranny as Montoya himself stated that he had a problem with it so I read. I dont care for punting guys or blocking on the track but, if they are slower and in the way and blocking then, punt away.
HOF#13
What?!?!? Montoya was slow enough on the restarts that Truex would have run into him if they all would have stayed in one line too. In my opinion Truex did the only thing he could by pulling out and trying to pass. If he doesn't, he checks up because of Juan and he get's hit from behind. Juan knew he was slow on the restarts, and if he is as good a racer as many here claim he is, he should have just let Truex go as he would have had no problem passing him back once he was up to speed. harvey lee
I agree HOF, the dude was slow and in the way as he had car issues. I believe he is a good racer but was wrong here.
Juneau4
So who had the most to gain in the points? Truex knew if he hit Montoyo it would probably take Harvick out. Montoyo gets blamed and nothing is said to him.
HOF#13
Huh? Are you saying that going into that first corner that Truex is sitting there thinking "If I take out Montoya, he'll hit Harvick and take him out too, and then maybe I'll gain a few spots in the points"? I have watched the replay a lot and it sure looked to me like Truex pulled out quite a ways from Montoya to try to pass, and Montoya blatantly went down to try to block. If Truex was REALLY thinking about dumping Montoya, wouldn't he have just stayed right behind him on the restart??? I seriously doubt that ever entered Truex's mind. Juneau4
Ya Ya these guys race for one thing! Money, and points mean money... They have no friends and they know how to spin one out to take another out. Just do it to make it looks like some one else. A rookie is always good. Tony Holland
So if....the 42 and the 1 car were reversed and Montonya hit Truex into Harvick I suppose everyone would blame Truex then????
Juneau4
Sure if the media or whoever wanted it that way.
HOF#13
If the exact same car conditions existed, and the cars were reversed, yes...I would blame Truex, just as I am placing blame on Montoya now.
NAPAFISH
Who does Harvick think he is?? Kurt Busch?? What a crybabyLets take a look at Harvicks greatest hits (acc-TSN)Harvick vs. Nemechek – These two had an ongoing spat for quite some time in ’05. Kevin telling the old man to shove it, anyone surprised? I love it! Harvick vs. Kenseth – I’ll never forget watching these two spin each other out under caution at the first Pocono race in ’04. I couldn’t believe my eyes; I’ve seen guys wreck each other intentionally before, but never under caution. The next week at Michigan Kevin wore a Matt Kenseth T-Shirt, that was great; and for a guy that doesn’t smile much, even Matt got a laugh out if it. Every once in a while I’ve got to pull the clip from NASCAR.com to get a good laugh. Harvick vs. Biffle – That was hilarious watching Harvick grab Biffle by the throat in front of a gaggle of reporters. I guess if you’re going to do it, you might as well make SportsCenter… (from Sporting News)I think Harvick is one of those drivers who think's he's better than he really is. Very arrogant.Although the highlight of race was watching the DePunk spin out at the end (must have been intimidated by Big Orange). The expression on Gordons face was priceless.
