eyepatrol
Did Stewart say the "talk" word out loud?

LMITOUT
That interview was on the track P.A. system so I suppose he thought he should talk smart. Lucky for him it wasn't a COT race or he would really get a penalty on Tuesday.
PierBridge
Maybe some of the Tony Stewart fans could chime in on this what did Tony mean when he said just after the race. "This Victory is for all you Tony Stewart fans here today who have to listen to all the B*ll Sh!t every week"
harvey lee
I'm really lost why he made that statement. No, I'm not one of his fans either, just wondering what he was trying to say.
lawdog
Maybe he said it because he knows he constantly acts like a complete jerk and his fans have to listen to the whole world point out how awful he is after he's bad mouthed another driver or crashed several cars out of a race and then blamed them for what he's done. Its a heavy burden to be a Smoke fan...

eyepatrol
You have a valid point Meany, but I've got kids and I'm sure there are many, many other fans who have kids that don't want them to hear that kind of talk. I don't do it around my kids at all. I'm sure there will come a time when my kids will say their fair share of cuss words, I just don't want them to learn it and say it at such a young age. That's my only concern. harvey lee
Pike, I dint know who is my man anymore. I use to cheer for Jr but that has come to an end. Seems I just watch the race and really dont care who it is except for a few that I would rather not see win. No names from me as I do believe that most already know. I dont mind Smoke and if he did say something that wasnt really needed, almost all do and sooner or later they all get caught on camera. When you are just getting off the track after a heated battle, sometimes words do fly even if they should not. Like the old saying goes, -h-t happens. I dont condone what Tony said but now adays, you can hear that on the street from many very young(5-7 years old) kids.
Harmonica Bear
Being a fan of the 20, not much different than being a fan of any other driver, you’re going to take some grief once in awhile (whether it is for rough driving, stupid comments, or just because…). He was pretty much saying to his fans thanks for sticking with me, this one’s for you. As far as the talk verbiage… I‘ve heard much, much worse at other public venues. You can learn a lot of new language at pro football, baseball, basketball, games. Gopher basketball in the barn has been known for its rather profane chants. Anyway, he said how he felt, and at least it wasn’t the same old politically correct, generic, “talk” NASCAR rhetoric. Yes, he should have refrained from the profanity, but as HL said $-hit happens. PierBridge
Quote: Quote: $-hit happens I agree, his "cash" will take a "hit" That and the 25 driver points shouldn't hurt to bad. I hear ESPN is a little down on him also for telling millions of listeners he's going to celebrate by drinking a whole case of Beer after is Chicago victory. They thought that set a bad example.......
harvey lee
$25,000 & 25 points fine for Stewart.
eyepatrol
That's about par from NASCAR.
harvey lee
Beats nothing and I know its not much. I would assume they have to follow others fines for the same infraction.
eyepatrol
Yep. If I'm not mistaken, that's the same penalty Jr. got for his cuss word a year or two ago.
fishinchicks
It's probably just enough to cover the FCC fine for swearing during prime time. The drivers need to be reminded that a lot of kids look up to them as role models.
harvey lee
Maybe the FCC needs to raise the fine for words. Its the same for the NASCAR penalties on the track, not enough of a fine for those with deep pockets.
LMITOUT
Maybe the networks should use a delay and dump button and then we wouldn't have to worry about it. That's the risk they take airing a live event and not using a delay.
Scott K
To me it sounded as it was said on purpose, and with a bit of an atittude, maybe I am wrong, it should have been 100 pt , and 100k, I bet there would be less of it!
eyepatrol
It sure did sound to be a purposeful comment/word. I too wondery why there wasn't a tape delay. I thought they were implementing that after the Jr. cuss word event.
