Bass Boat and Camaro

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with putting a boat in the water (and getting it out) with a camaro or a car similar to it like a firebird or something. Im looking to get a cheap boat about $1,000, about 14 ft. with a motor under 50 hp. I have a 96 camaro that i would be putting a hitch on. Would my car be able to get a boat like that out or would i just get stuck?

Should be fine, but use concrete boat ramps to be safe. Also, I hope you don't mind the rear of said Camaro getting a bit wet. Another note - prolly know this - if the exhaust is under water keep the engine going.

I have a 14' Lund with 15HP motor and trolling motor and deck etc.. so it's heavy (for a 14' Lund!) and a 1996 Firebird. Never a problem at all.

Except that one time at a steep sandy St. Croix river ramp... frown.gif

See the car in the background?

Because your limiting yourself to a camaro or firebird a mullet is required. Any other car such as a mini-van or grand-am, mullets are optional but clogging up the ramp for at least 15 minutes is required.

Isn't a mullet
required
with T-tops?

T-tops (aka wifebeaters) are only needed if your going to star on the next episode of COPS. Preferably with some ketchup and mustard stains on the front.

LOL, He was talking about the roof on the car. It's a T-top model.

One other requirement is a loud stereo playing 1980's hair metal or at least a concert shirt from your favorite band. Mustard and ketchup optional. wink.gif

Come on you have to have a mullet if you drive a Camaro. Just thought I would pass this along on what you need to have in order to drive a Camaro. laugh.gif

2. CamaroMullet: The CamaroMullet used to have full reign over the mullet brethren, but that was back in the 70's and 80's. This species has fallen from grace since, but can still be seen enjoying NASCAR events and shopping at Kragen, or up in the attic cooking up crank. Distinguishing features include: a molester mustache (peach fuzzy), tight-fitting acid wash jeans, and an ever-present key ring hanging from the belt loop.

It is not recommended you confront the CamaroMullet, for they are very aggressive and cannot be hurt (this might be due to the frequent use of methamphetamines, angel dust, etc.).

Mulletude: 10

Aggressiveness: 10

Hobbies: primering cars, bar fights, picking scabs, losing teeth.

Sightings: Kragen, Grand Auto, working on a Camaro on their front lawn.

Favorite Band: AC DC

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
