Headin out with PapaGrump here in a bit. We're going to do some scouting of locations and water levels.

Hopefully everyone is still planning on attending.

The bite has turned on, and I have a feeling that some nice fish will either be caught on Fri (BPCL)if not, then Sat. Hopefully both!

I think the plan with be to gather at sandbar late afternoon to early evening. I thought about earlier, but it's going to be a hot one crazy.gif.

We will check out the firewood situation and report back.

Just returned home. Not good frown.gif

Skinny water and lots of hazards. Glad we had the jet tonight.

Plan A will be scrapped and we'll have to revert to plan B. I'm confident it will be fine. We we'll be launching at Jordan and going downstream. The shore spot is good, but not as good as plan A, however there are a lot more spots nearby that people can fish from boats compared to the first spot.

I will be going out again tomorrow or Wed to do some more scouting, but I don't think there should be any issues.

Deep enough water there for the sportfish? I'll put on my prop that's already dinged up.

You could probably do it, but don't plan on getting on plane. You'll be idling the good majority. It's not too far from the launch.

If it's any consolation, there are no rocks to hit. smirk.gif

I'll be out there either way, so even if one other person show up then I'll have some company. I was thinking of meeting at the Jordan launch at 4:00. If you are boatless arrangements will be made. We can hit the sandbar and talk, cook up some grub and those that want to adventure can hit some nearby spots with boats. I'm more than likely just staying on shore for the night. I think there is a really good chance of catching a decent fish for those that have a donut and an upgrade for the others, yes even you Larry smile.gif

wow its really shaping up to be a real cat gathering...everyones ditching out.

Even I'm thinking of it, IRA Sprint cars at Arlington Saturday turning the 1/2 mile oval in 14 seconds, but then again I feel more obligated to fire up the "I'm not a guide / shuttle service" one more time grin.gif

Well, I've got good news and bad news. The good news is that there is plenty of water, even for a large boat. The bad news, there's wood everywhere. I found a nice line and didn't bump a thing on the way down with average of about 7ft of water and the shallowest at 4ft. On the way back up I did manage to bump a log, but I was just putting along. It's not a very far ride. So we are in good shape. Just need to take it easy.

Also there is little to no fuel for a fire, so either we bring some in, or make our own.

Here's a little teaser for you. Taken right in front of camp.

Sweet. Count me in with a boat then. At least for haulin gear/people if nothing else. I've never caught a catfish from shore, might try that for the fishing part.

I'll be there by 4. I have a boat that's capable of hauling lots of firewood -- if those pallets are coming along I'll throw some of them in. Oh yeah if someone knows where we can get more wood of any kind, I have a pickup and can easily pick some up on the way to the ramp, just let me know where.

I realized I hadn't even posted on this thread yet. Ooops!

I'll be there and have my boat down as well.

It looks like we'll have plenty of boats! grin.gif

One suggestion would be for those with larger rigs to just leave them at home. While Darren says there is 4-7' of water to get to this area, there are plenty of other areas in the river that are going to be much, much shallower than that if you are planning to head out and explore. Unlike a lot of stretches, the Jordan stretch is just littered with wood and sunken timber. If you don't plan on going anywhere other than to the sandbar and back, I guess no big deal.
