JR/Hendrick.

I guess I don't understand how you can just stop being a fan of someone because he went to a different team. He went to a team that would better his career and possibly make him a more consistent contender. He is still the same person right? He doesn't automatically become a robot because he joined Hendrick does he? I guess I am a bit miffed on why you or anyone else would stop being a Jr. fan because he switched teams. For the people that do, I would question how loyal of a fan they were in the first place.

I have been a very loyal Earnhardt fan of both Sr and Jr for all the years I have followed NASCAR. I do not care for Hendrick Motorsports and probably never will. I do wish Jr all the luck in the world but will change drivers due to this change.

Anyone who knows me knows how I have cheered for the Earnhardt name for years. As stated, I do wish him good luck but will not cheer for a Hendrick car no matter who drives the cars. OK, I'm nuts.

Where does this hatred for Hendrick come from? I asked something similar in a different post. Is it just a Yankee's Syndrome type thing (as brought up in the news conference)? If so, do you also hate Rousch? They fell off a bit now, but a couple years ago they were the dominate force in Nascar with all 5 cars in the chase.

I am not trying to start something here, I truely want to know why there is all this Gordon/Hendrick hatred from Jr. Fas and vise versa.

I truely do not want to go into why I dont care for Rick Hendrick as it will only fuel a new thread and it will go only south from here. Rousch I can take but Mr. Hendrick is another issue.

One can do a little search on Mr Hendrick and find out what the man is all about.

I dont dislike Jeff Gordon or Casey Mears. JJ and the Schrub I dont care for at all. Cry babies. It's Rick Hendrick I dont care for at all. Nuf said and no hard feelings at all.

I perdicted this earlier. I just wasn't sure if Jr. was that smart. I thought Mears would be the odd man out but I think he felt the presure and is now performing.

I didn't realize some poeple here were more anti Hendrich than Jr. fans.

I dont blame him for going to Hendrick as he will do better. I personally just dont care for the way Mr. Hendrick chooses to do business.

Harvey every business is cut throat. No matter what people who succeed in things don't usually get there by doing it the "nice" way.

Its one thing to not be nice and yet another to be a crook. One doesnt have to throw your morels out the window or shall I say, a honest man wouldn't do that.

I said I wasnt going to go here but if one needs to defend why he feels the way he does one will need to explain all and I just would rather not open that can of worms.

Good subject but I believe I will refrain from getting down to far.

No, we don't have to go down this road. Harvey has expressed his feelings on the matter, and has said several times he doesn't want to get into specifics for this very reason. Let's just accept and respect his opinion and move on. I still think of highly of Harvey Lee, Jr. fan or not. Besides Jr. is still in a DEI car, so I am guessing I'll still have Harvey on my side until the end of the year.

I'll jump on in here. First, I am not the biggest Jr. fan in the world, but I am definitely a fan. I am not a Gordon or Johnson fan. Maybe I was sick of Gordon winning all the time, now maybe I'm just sick of GOrdon and Johnson winning all the time, and maybe it's just that I don't like their style and they way they go about business. Call it personaality conflict. I like Jr becuase of the the fact the kid has got a certian laid-back coolness about him. Not the punkass-MTV-don't care-smoke-a-joint-hip-hop-cool, but a down home laid-back cool while maintaining a respect for things that is evaporating from NASCAR and society in general. He is not one of your ordinary cookie-cutter corporate young gun on a cookie cutter track. I'll still be a Jr. fan because of that but he even said in his press conference, "I guess I won't be wearing jeans and t-shirts to work as much anymore." I'm going to miss that. If he goes from sponsoring Wranglers to Dockers then I'll officially step away.

Were all entitled to our opinions of things nothing wrong with that I know Harvey has solid reasonable reasons for his dislike of Rick Hendrick.

Me personally I choose to give Rick Hendrick a pass on whatever felony's or bad things he done because of all the good things he's done lately involving Children's Cancer and other noble cause's.

I really don't watch Nascar much anymore but I'll always be on the Hendricks side mainly because of the disrespect in this forum "select few" and nation wide "small minority" when Hendrick motor sports lost Family and friends in the tragic plain crash, thats something I will never EVER forget.

Go Jr and Hendrick motor sports!!!!!

I think this is it.

In 1997, Hendrick pleaded guilty to mail fraud. In the 1980s, Honda automobiles were in high demand, and Honda executives allegedly solicited bribes from dealers for larger product disbursements. Hendrick admitted to giving hundreds of thousands of dollars, BMW automobiles, and houses to American Honda Motor Company executives. Hendrick was sentenced in December of that year to a $250,000 fine, 12 months home confinement (instead of prison, due to his leukemia), three years probation, and to have no involvement with Hendrick Automotive Group or Hendrick Motorsports during his year of confinement. In December of 2000, Hendrick received a full pardon from President Clinton.
