Yeah, funny how the writer makes these erroneous statements like they're facts. The muskie "was either hungry or angry." Of course it couldn't have been startled, spooked, or defensive. And here was the best, muskies "have razor sharp teeth and a bad disposition." Bad disposition!? How about a predator that simply eats to survive...or do they have some behavioral psychologist for fish on the Trib's staff!!

OK here is how I look at it. That musky just plain had enough. He has to live in the city, deal with the "anti everything" poeple in their shiny little jogging suits drinking their shiny little bottle of super purified water. So this poor fish has commotion all the time, not the best water in the world, small little lake with little room to move so on and so forth...I think if I had to live like that I would start biting poeple also.

Unbelievable, this was the second story at 5 on channel 5 news. They made a pretty big deal about it. After that they went on to shootings and such. Yep, muskie bit (alegidly) is more important than other stories.

The situation is a nice reminder that we are all part of the natural world, no matter how far removed we try to make ourselves from it, we can all find ourself on the wrong end of a critter. Feel bad for the kid though must of scared the brown out of him!

yeah its insane I was listening to kool 108 and the guy was saying I hope they got him...refering to the muskie...Now what good would that do??? Bad muskie you were a very bad muskie thats 4 years in jail for assault, lol. Well as long as it doesnt turn into something like down by the ocean where one shark kills someone and they slaughter thousands. Poor kid though he wont step foot in water for awhile.

It read in the strib that it " may have been a Musky " . Sounds to me that nobody even saw a fish and they , for what ever reason , are just assuming it was a Musky . Probably cause thats more sensational than " boy scratches leg on rock while wading " . I'm not saying he didn't get chomped on by a Musky but if they can't say it was ..... kinda makes ya wonder .

Watched the channel five again this morning and they were playing "Jaws" music when showing the beach. Kids Mom was saying he's going to have a deep scar for life. No proof it was a muskie, but they are all over it. It's funny to me how big they try to make this story.

Even though I'm not the biggest fan of Don Shelby, his "In the Know" bit last night on the CCO news was pretty funny. He was basically making fun of the kid by saying something along the lines of, "on behalf of all musky fisherman in Minnesota, can you please let us know what you were doing to make that muskie bite? Were you moving side-to-side, fast or slow? Was the water clear or murky? What would you say the temperature was? Maybe Paris should get in touch with one of the hundreds of tackle makers in the state, make a cast mold of his ankle, throw a couple treble hooks on it, and call it the latest and greatest "Paris Lure"!"

A little story for you guys.

The next morning I was fishing by myself on a public dock, and around 10 am, a guy with his kid came walking up. His first words to me were, "did you see that story about the kid that got attacked by a Muskie?" I said yup sure did, but hay, they are there, and its not like it happens all the time. The guy said, ya but these fish shouldnt be in the water if they are a threat to my son and others. I looked at the guy like he was a quack. He then went off on a rampage about how these fish are going to be fresh water aligaters. I laughed at him and said good luck fishing.

Its amazing how people will just flip out because of some little story, its a crazy world out there, but come on.....
