Marriage Proposal

Recommended Posts

All you women might think I'm nuts, but I am just going to do it. After too many years of waiting for my boyfriend to take the initiative, I'm going to do it for him. So I've decided to propose to him (very new-age dont you think?). So I need some ideas - he's big into hunting and fishing and I want to make it something memorable. Any ideas?

make up a hunting license and issue it to him or for yourself and "tag" him for your possession. One per person though wink.gif

We don't want to promote over harvest if you know what I mean....

Sorry, just had a great idea. contact your FRIENDLY CO in your area and have your boyfriend checked/confiscate his bow/gun/fishing gear etc. during fishing/hunting season and have him questioned. While giving him a scare of his life the CO issues him a citation of a wedding proposal with ring in hand with you under cover...

Maybe a stupid idea but i'm not sure how far you want to take it but it sure would make for a story of a life time and he will never see it coming or forget it.

my bro in law did something similar to my sister but it was the local cop and he pulled her over and said she would get speeding ticket unless she married my bro in law as he came out of the squad car!! funny thing is she was late and she actually was speeding!!!

my suggetion is a simple one. just buy him a new hunting/fishing hat. use a pc. of ribbon, and tie the ring to the front of the bill, and give it to him. good luck! del

Maybe the location is important; Take him fishing, early June in Canada when the walleyes are stacked beneath a waterfall (although if he says no and your on a week-long fly-in trip that could be awkward; if he says yes the extra time would be great). Maybe a remote trout stream, near home...Or a mountain-top in Alaska...Sneak along a bottle of bubbly.

Very "New Age" indeed; hope it all works out!

A gal told me this week she was married at Disappointment Lake in the BWCA. Maybe the name of the location is important. She seemed to find humor in the name, they're married 11 years now. Probably not your first choice in names. There is a Beauty Lake, Woman Lake, Lucky Lake, Horseshoe Lake, Loven Lake, Diamond Lake...just brainstorming.

Well - sorry to disappoint but I think I'm going to hold off. Talked to a buddy of his who said he would be disappointed if he didnt get the chance to do it himself. Guess I'll have to be patient :-)

Sounds like an excellent wingman. Good cover, "buddy". Sooooo, how much longer will you wait?

Go buy a brand new Boat, motor and trailer combination. When he asks, "So...when are we going fishing?" you can tell him he needs to be a partner in life before being a partner in the boat... tongue.gif

I just got married in April after 7 years of dating. We had a lot of things going on in our lives during that time (sick family members, job/money issues, ect...), but now that it is all said and done, I wish we would have done it sooner even with all the added stress.
