Opening weekend sounds

Lake Iwanttobethere sounds,

Zipper opening on the tent in the middle of the night because someone has to go.

Snoring from the guy in the tent two sites down.

The call of a loon at dusk.

The drumming of a grouse at noon.

Cooling of a dove at dawn.

The distant call of a crow.

Crackling of a fire.

Bubbling of the outboard idling at the dock.

Beep of a graph being turned on.

Clicking of a reel.

Screaming of a drag ( my favorite)

Waves lapping against the side of a boat.

Rod bouncing off the gunwale.

Crushing of a chip bag.

Gurgle of the truck exhaust in the water.

Louder clicking of a winch.

Plop of a bobber hitting the water.

Clearing your throat and have it echo back at you.

Laughter from the other side of the lake.

Your heart when you have your first fish of the day.

The contented sigh of finally getting on the water!

The sound the sun makes when it enters the water at the end of the day

A Bullfrog

A Peeper

A Blue Herons cry when it has to fly.

The boom of the pizza cannon.

Honks of a flight of geese.

A barking dog on a dock.

A splash.

The slurp of a bass on top.

Snapping of sunfish feeding.

The painful sound of a jet ski.

Flapping of flag.

The cycle of a water pump.

Flip flops on a dock.

I heard these all on opening weekend, how about you?

I heard the drunk guys down the shore around their campfire at 3 in the morning yelling/screaming/swearing etc. I guess it's payback for all the dump I put the lake through in my younger days... grin.gif

I have a potato gun but what is a pizza cannon? I may regret asking but I have to know!

You will have to go to the Outdoor discussion forum and read the fishing report for Lake Iwanttobethere. The Pizza cannon is used at Del's Pizza and Sub shop.

I got to hear not one but two speedboats with waterskiiers/tubers flying by me at aboot 10 feet on a 148 acre lake. Now who in there right mind would even bother to bring their speedboat to a 148 acre lake to go tubing/waterskiing when there are several larger lakes within 5 miles?

White-caps slamming into the front of the boat...

RAIN like a cow P'ing on a flat rock

Our "lake neighbor's" pug, purring. I did not know that any dogs purred!

The gentle hiss of a hen mallard sitting a nest

Kids screaming with delight in the cold cold water. And screaming, and screaming, and screaming... smile.gif

Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

Laughter from four friends, together for the 25th year.

A buzzing, massive cloud of fish flies.

A jack-hammering Pileated Woodpecker.

The thudding of a six pound dogfish in the boat.

Wailing loons at dusk on the lake.

The Ker-plunks of released large Bluegills.

Pelting of rain on my rain-gear, driving 30 mph across lake.

Thumping of Crappies and Walleyes on the cleaning board.

The whap, whap of my friends engine cylinder...half-way home.

2 guys in the front of my boat sing without a radio (that was terrible).

Did you tie the minnow bucket to the boat? (minnow bucket was floating)

Bobber's down, set the hook. (Bobber back up and floating because someone burnt the line with a cigarette)

- The chorus of barking spiders that only seemed to begin once we were all in the RV and the doors and windows were shut...

- The violent WHACK of boat hulls slapping Mille Lacs rollers...

- The cry of "down, down - DOWN!" at midnight while "Corkin'" on Shaw's Reef!

- The sounds of old Farmall tractors launching boats at Appeldorn's smile.gif

- The *bleep* of the graph as we motored over a gravel bar...

- Mommy, I gotta go pottie (as Daddy is pulling away from the landing)!

- A voice from behind me while fishing on a public pier at WBL: "Are there any fish in this lake?" My rely: No sir, there are no fish in this lake at all, just dead bodies.

- The big splash I made as I slipped off the trailer toungue while trying to line my boat up for recovery and realizing that my wallet and cell phone are in the same pocket and just as wet as I am.
