lawdog
From my understanding it was not a big deal, he simply believed they weren't fixing it to try to get it back out and so he left. Just a miscommunication...

anyfishwilldo
I dont think that it is beyond the realm of possibility for Jr to take the 3. If everyone remembers when he won the busch series 2 years in a row, his # was 3 then.

A crew needs to fix a badly smashed car to some degree before its capable of being loaded onto the hauler. You can't take a car with sheet metal hanging four feet out to the side and the front end so smashed the wheels won't turn and push it into the hauler or for that matter have it fit into where you fasten it down. I've spent many a night fixing enough stuff after we were done racing just so we could get it loaded up to haul home...
fishonnopeoff
Oh sorry, I guess you are right.......since you know what you are talking about. REALLY? no kidding...Well if nothing else he sure is a poor sport then.(perfect fit for that team) I know if it was my car and there was ANY chance of it getting back out on the track I would be helping get it going. ricbak
I will agree with you on this one, did you see that the TV reporter went over to the garage area after kyle pulled in and he shrugged them off only to storm off to his motor home, and they made up an excuse that he was going to his motor home to cool off but he came out with his street clothes on. I think that Kyle knew he really screwed up by plowing into the back of Jr. that he could'nt face it! I just wonder what Mr.Hendrick had to say this week about his disapearing act? You made a great point. Say no more.Shrub should have stayed !!If not to help, mabey just to support his teamates.Shrub's not only a whiner, but a quitter as well. TNFL
Are you gus whacked? When a Hendrick car beats Jr they throw beer cans at them. What do you think would happen if one wrecked Jr. They had to get him out of there for fear of his life, due to some insane psycho Jr fans. If you don't like the guy thats fine, but don't nit-pick every little thing and make a huge deal out of it. Because, someone had to see him leaving and if they thought he should stay they would have said something. I doubt the crew cheif got it fixed and announced, "OK kyle its ready....ummm kyle....kyyyyle... huh, now where did he go?"
Big Dave2
Well..........Jr was wrecked too, right?Kind of funny that he stuck around and Kyle didn't. He seems like the kind of guy who just likes to race and he was given the chance to get out on the track again and drive a car so he took it.I have no Idea why a race car driver would ever leave a race early. Wouldn't you like to just hang around and see the end? Or maybe help or at least cheer on your teammates? As far as getting him out for security reasons, I highly doubt that was the case. JohnMickish
I'll say it agian. This is not the first time a driver has left after a crashed car. It wont be the last time either. For some reason I believe that Jr. did the same thing a few years ago and needed a driver after he left the track.
lawdog
Are you kidding me? I remember two years ago when Jr. got out of the car that was just fine and put Truex in it because he said it wasn't very good so it just wasn't worth his time to drive it. It wasn't even wrecked. They had Truex there to stand by if he was still hurting too bad, good thing I guess because it turned out he was needed just because the almighty Jr. didn't want to have to drive a less than perfect car. LMITOUT
Maybe the 3rd degree burns had something to do with it???? If he's in the car and suffering already, why put up with a terrible car that isn't worth a darn? Might as well get out and try to heal up before the next race. Don't try to spin it into something it's not....that he just got out because he was mad at the car.
TNFL
sounds more like 3rd degree hurt feelings to me!!!
JohnMickish
I would bet that if he where 1st in points and looking real hard at winning the big trophy he would have stayed in the car...Anyways it's not as big a deal as some of us here are making out of it. Big Dave2
This is not an exact quote but during the race last night DW said that Kyle should have stayed there, and that you never quit, and never leave until the car is put into the hauler. DW should know.

That was a completely different situation. There you had an injured driver who had a back-up driver waiting in the wings.Kyle obviously did not have a back-up driver waiting to get in the car. He was just being a baby.
Sutty
Sometimes the announcers will rant about recked cars trying to pick up points saying they are a danger to themselves and others on the track. Just depends if the driver is popular or not.
VMS
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZ..ugh...er...From what I understand Kyle had a terrible car on Saturday, and after crashing hard enough on Sunday figured the car was irrepairable. I do think he should have stuck around, but if memory serves me, he didn't lose any driver points and could potentially gain(?) points with Jr in the car since he was not there to drive it?To me, this is no big deal at all... TNFL
Its only a big deal if you hate hendrick, and want something else to point a finger at. ======D
iffwalleyes
So did Kyle make it to the Media center after his little tempertantrum. I don't remember him ever being interviewed? But last week Tony Stewart gets in trouble for not going to the Media Center and gets fined. I obviously have to me missing something or don't understand how that whole deal works. lawdog
Top three finishers are required to go to the media room for interviews. People who wreck and finish thirtysomethingth don't...You guys need to find something new to try to pick on the shrub about. He does enough dumb stuff that we don't need to try to keep bringing up this non-issue.

JohnMickish
The only thing I saw shrub do wrong yesterday was to trust Stewart to follow him, right before Stewart sent him off his front bumper.
LMITOUT
...and if Stewart didn't follow then that's tough...fall back. Don't swerve back down across someone's front bumper and then cry about it when you end up in the grass.
