TurnUpTheFishing
Definatley a fish worthy of mounting.
jigging-matt
I agree, Mount it. Had a 10 1/2 incher last season and didn't mount it. Just got back my perch from SD and still kick myself for not doing the sunnie.
gspman
Dockboy,It doesn't matter what the size is. You can mount whatever you want. Most of my taxidermy specimens aren't the biggest of that species that I've caught or killed. There's usually an interesting story behind each one and I decided to have that specimen mounted for the story and to preserve the memory.
juggs
You have two choices--mount it or eat it. You can catch a million fish to eat but how many more ten inch bluegills will you catch? Mount the sucker!!
Barbelboy
Life is short, stuff it.
vermilionwally
How about a 15 inch crappie? I caught one this winter on Boulder Lake in Duluth, but couldnt decide whether to mount it or eat so I took the picture and ate it
Random guy
I would mount it, that's a nice fish many will never see.
andrew chadwick
I would heve released it. and perhaps gotten a pic.
katoguy
I would have released it or ate it (depending on the exact situation). Mounts tend to shrink (at least in one's mind) when you take them home.
lunker651
Mount it..... That's what I'll do. You don't see blue gills that big anymore.
andrew chadwick
its realy not that impressive. I usualy land at least a 6 over 10 a year. toss it back to reproduce is what I would do. I wouldnt even consider getting a BLG mounted till it pushed 11 1/2, then it would be a replica. I have never caught one over 10 1/2.
tacklebox7FF
well.. a 15 in crappie is a nice crappie if your going to mount it..but they get kinda mushy when you eat them that big..I'd throw it back... good breeding stock for the lake...
