UNIT
I am looking at switching rests and like what I see in the Ripcord. Anyone have any insight? Any problems experienced?
Powerstroke
BUddy of mine has one. He likes it quite a bit.Downsides are that the arrow hold is plastic and people think they could break.
cliffy
If you like the Ripcord..you might want to take a look at the QAD Ultra LD. I got one on my switchy and I really like it. Its about the same as the Ripcord but has one nice feature. You can be at full draw and do a slow let down and the rest does not fall all the way down..it stays in the capture position. Check out their web-site for a demo video. I think you would very happy with either rest. Good luck.Cliffy.
lunker651
I have ripcord on my Ross and have put a couple thousand shots through it. One of the easiest rest to set up and tune. It has perform great and the launcher arm doesn't break that easy. Try to break one and it just bend, the plastics are tough. I had that one replace, even though I did some test on it myself. I called them that I needed a new launcher arm and they just send me a new one, no questions ask. I say that is great customer service. I wouldn't hesitate to get me another one. delmuts
i'm not familiar with these types of rest, but interested! do you have any problems with arrow noise with these, or do you use something to cover it?
Walleye Guy
I use the RipCord on my XT and love it. It is perfectly quiet and has performed flawlessly during the year I have used it. If you draw back and do not shoot your arrow the rest does drop down. I believe the QAD rest stays "up". I haven't had a hunting situation where this has been an issue yet. I would highly recommend the RipCord.
Powerstroke
To answer Del's question, there are usually two types of noise associated with drop-aways. There is noise while drawing back because of the contact in the groove of the rest or some models have a sound when they hit the bottom of the drop cycle. The drawing contact can be cured with some fleece tape or moleskin. The latter can be difficult. One needs to find out what is making the noise. Is there contact with the bow shelf? etc?

Thanks for posting this Ciffy....I got the QAD (Ultra rest) LD. Shot it last night and robin hooded my 3rd arrow. . I can't beleive the tight groups compared to the Diamond Cobra I had. Very happy and like the arrow retention and quietness.

bmc
I too have the Ripcord on my Hoyt X-tech and love it!!! As far as arrow noise when you're drawing, put a little mole felt on the rest and end of problem. My dad sells a lot of these in his shop.Brian
lilman
I had a customer shoot it on his Liberty and when he went out Elk hunting, he drew on a huge bull, which is always the case and the rest never dropped, ripper the fletches off his arrow and needless to say didnt he even come close to killing, let alone hitting the elk.
