Nice going Insurance Guy. Indeed the bar was smokin tonight. I mean smokin grin.gifgrin.gif. The Rogue Kid and CNY Outdoorsman hit the bar about 730 and had limits plus 1 in 20min. I hit the bar a bit later with the Rogue kid and we hit 15 in 45 min smile.gif.Still trying to figure this camera thing out but thanks to CNY Tim heres a couple pics. shocked.gif

Here's my biggest northern to date on 4 lb Stren, fought him for 25 minutes while walleye fishing. We were killing the fish and they stopped biting. Notice the lump in his stomach? I put this fish back but I was felling the lump and I think it had a walleye in it that it recently ate.

Calling it a night after we doubled up at the bar. The Rogue Kid, CNY Outdoorsman,my Brother in-law and I hit-em again. All good eaters between 19-24. Not much traffic except a couple greedy fisherman.A little ice in the bay but the chop layed right down about 1000. grin.gifgrin.gifNo pics tonight.Everyone have a great new year and be safe.

Looks like Oneida is smoking hot at the bar. Man, my truck is telling me to make the hike out there grin.gifgrin.gif. Great job again, North Shore. This is a year to remember for the eyes. It has to be one of the best, right? Are you going to end 2006 with a limit, and head out at 12:01am to start 2007 in with a bang? That would be sweet. I bet you can talk Timmy in to that, also.

A bunch of us hit Long Pond which is fed by Lake Ontario in search of some perch. It was super slow...we stood around talking about ice fishing most of the time. I think only 6 fish were caught total between 10 of us, with only one keeper:

Holy dump Lee that Northern is fuggly grin.gif No problem that NP taking down a 15" walleye I bet. I called you last night Lee did you get the message? The alarm went out to Franky too but he was busy at Gander. I called Donny and Shaun too since I didn't get em a christmas present, thought they'd appreciate the gift that keeps on giving wink.gif

Another slam Campbell alright!!!

I'd like ENY Tyler to come up and join us for this it's only another 45 minutes west Tyler so keep that in mind...

Nice picture Johnny, when you see perch like that it's like a light switch. Makes me want to get on the ice more.

Johnny you need to come up and bring in the New Year right!

I have some fish to clean.I don't think I'll make a trip after 1200 tonight as we have a gathering we will be attending to bring in thew new year.Just around the corner.Maybe in the early am hrs. smirk.gifThe challengers were the ticket but need to hit the manor and get a few more.Yes I has been a great fall but with the weather outlook this great fishin may continue. smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gifLets hope so.

Well if there wasnt the woman I would be there at 12:01 it was to much fun. First time for me this year that I really slaughtered fish one right after another. Almost didnt end up going out at all. Had to pick her up from work so Rogue Kid and I decided to throw a few casts on the way home. Ended up makin for a nice night. Small perch challlenger all night for me. Ended up changing from SuperBraid to 6 lb Iron silk and with the ice I think it was the best thing I ever did. Alot of surface hits, had probably 7 or 8 fish hit my soft spot and did theyre best largemouth imitations....Great night.

Just talked to Steve and he's gonna have a tough time getting out of work for the next couple of days. When I called him to tell him how the night bite was last night the first thing I said was.... "Dude are you sitting down." grin.gif he trapped another beaver and he was getting ready to go out and do something with the traps now. Checked the wind for tommorow and it will flip out of the west but not until like 7 p.m. tommorrow night so I imagine the late late bit will be something to behold again... Off to last Browns meeting of the year, thank Jesus the season is almost over, wait it has been for about 15 weeks, LOL grin.gif

Nice walleyes again fellas. I knew I should have gone Saturday night but we had an early party to attend and I was making a huge pot of walleye chowder to bring. We went to Lake George yesterday for some lakers and my pals Robb and Ozzy joined me out there. What a georgous day on the water. Several other boats out trolling for salmon and we boated 8 lakers which is pretty slow for that lake. We fished from 11am til 4pm and capped of the day with a nice shore lunch of venison and walleye chowder on one of the islands and headed in after that cool.gif

a little break from jerking leadcore wink.gif

Happy New Year everybody and I think later today I'm going to try for walleyes to ring in the New Year. I've got a pretty bad cold and don't feel too good but it's too warm out to not go, at least for a little while towards dark when they start biting anyway.

Look forward toyour report tonight.

I got that Mustang suit early last winter and it's just showing some "normal wear and tear" from lots of fishing grin.gif The walleyes were hitting great tonight. I trolled for for only an hour and a half starting around 4pm and done by 5:30! Conditions were warm, cloudy and foggy and still some ice on the lake near shore from a couple nights ago. The clouds and fog made for an early bite. Had 8 solid strikes, lost 3 and boated a 5 fish limit of nice eyes between 18" and 22". They were just "nippin" the sticks tonight and all fish were just lightly hooked with the rear treble in the upper lip. As I was working the one rod I had one eye hit the bait 3 times before he finally got hooked cool.gif Most of the fish came off the deadsticked rod in the holder. Surface temp was down to 37 on the lake I was fishing with a heavy fog that rolled in around 4:30! If it weren't for my Lowrance 26c and the Navionics chip I would never have found my way back the 6 miles to the launch after dark in the fog ooo.gif Couple of my New Year's day eyes in the heavy fog! I don't know of a better way to start the New Year except maybe some icefishing grin.gif I'm taking the boat back out this week 2 or 3 more nights again to work over this outstanding winter walleye bite before the lake freezes!

Way to go John we needed the Lund here tonight... Fish were a bit beyond our reach...

Doing what Johnny? You are absolutely right the weather gods did not flash even a wiff of west wend for the night bite, what little we had was direct from the south and that means a boat would have been the ultimate choice tonight. Fish were a bit out of reach of full launch. Attendees I ran into and fished with Larry, Mike, Al, Lech, Don (nice meeting ya) CNY Outdoorsman and the Rogue Kid.

Larry had two and I think Mike had at least two but you know how he is grin.gif. Saw a wader who did have some luck early before the west chop died he had a limit. Roque Kid, NorthShore and I each caught one. I only bumped 3 had two on and should have landed the one but ran her smack dab into a rock. North Shore in an effort to reach the fish way out lost two big 3 hook challengers, zero style points but an A for effort wink.gif, I mean that mono snaps loud North Shore when your in full launch and line catches the dam trigger grin.gif The last 30-45 min. we didn't even bump one so we booked at 8:30 p.m. Only fish I bumped were to the left of the preachers box. Thank you North Shore for replenishing my frenzies and after fishing I stopped at Greg's for a cold one and sampled to of Mo's excellent puff pastries, mmmmm. Thanks guys.

We would of had em for sure if one of the 3 weather reports was right, oh well there's always the rest of the week to make a run. Al was mentioning something about how late were gonna be on the ice this year and North Shore replied back I hope we can fish these walleyes open water to the 15th of March, LOL.. grin.gif Greg has the fever! Here's a pick of Greg's fish and my fish together. I hit mine on Black and Chrome junior and Greg a 3 hook Challenger chrome/pink I think confused.gif

Tim, I could not stand it any longer and charged out of the house to arrive at the "location" at 1055 . . . late? I think not, as Al and Lek were still there. Wind was trying to shift to the NW, but mostly from the SW. Waves had a healthy roll to them for a preacher box presentation. By 1110 I had my limit. Red and white bomber, all completely swallowed! Stayed to talk with Al and Lek and we finally left around 1230 when the wind really started to blow from the SW hard and bringing biting cold rain with it. We caught several, yes I used the frenzy and yes I released them . . . so I could enjoy tonight . . . might not catch any today but now its the company more than fish in the freezer.

Way to go Franky - It's all about the company is right... Catching fish is the bonus. North Shore had to work today so we had to keep it to a minumum last night. Sounds like you got some late night chop chop to your liking... Way to go. See ya at work tomorrow. Did a lot of running around this morning with the wife, banking, Midas for the van routine stuff, and car insurance. I'll be ready for the good ice in February frown.gif

You sure do like golf insurance guy... I have never seen anyone put a 9 iron to walleyes like you have in the Lund the second half of 06... wink.gifgrin.gifsmile.gif

Fishingking - Tim your awfully quiet? Working and no fishing?

Rogue Kid's making a run down to the lake to see what's up. North Shore just called and said the wind just died crazy.gif

Friday night is looking great for some shore fishing. It says on the news a low of 47, that pretty balmy around here. I was wanting to ask, where are you all fishing anyway. I was thinking you were describing the east side of the canal where you see people wading in the spring/fall and I guess now January. Maybe I can talk by buddy stevie to come down that way Friday night and see if we can get some fresh dinner for Saturday.

Probably wouldn't hurt going to get some ice fishing stuff at The Manor while we are there as well. Looks like cold weather in the 2 week forecast now, the surface temp is pretty cold, so the lake will firm up fast god willing.

When Timmie hits a drive you should yell "Duck!" Out last night about 9 with Jim, Kyle, Al and Lek . . . I think North Shore Jr showed for a second to ask how it was going . . . all limited except Kyle, who for some reason can not even get a bump. Ice was freezing on the guides as the temps went down quickly. Frenzy, frenzy, frenzy . . .what can I say grin.gif

Limits again, that's great. I'm getting back out there tonight myself with the boat after work for a couple hours and then tomorrow and Friday night too cool.gif I'm taking out some people the next 3 nights on my free walleye charter service wink.gif The first 2 hours are free and anymore than that will cost ya!! Should be nice and bright out there with the full moon phase tonight and I've got a feeling that the silver and black Super Rogue might be good tonight with all the moonlight out to kick off plenty of flash on the lure cool.gif Even at night the color can make a HUGE difference depending on how bright it is.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
