connecting lead to mono?

does anyone know how are what you call the knot to connect lead core to mono.

rip, for the leader pinch off 6"-8" lead, pull it out of the sheething, put the mono inside the sheething from the end and tie a couple simple granny knots 1-2" apart. I dont know what you call this knot.

btw, do you have the words rippin lips on the stern of your boat? may have crossed paths at big C...

I pinch off the lead and then use either blood knots or uni-knots to tie them together. Mono looses lots of strength if you don't get a good knot on there.

no words on the back of my boat yet going to put "ship faced" on the back soon though. I do fish Big C allot though. I found out that this knot is caled the carot knot thanks for the help.

I use Guderod leadcore and it has the knot I use on the package, It is a Albright Special. I tie this to a barrel swivel and use Fireline as a leader, usually about eight to 10 feet.

I second the albright knot, slips through the guides the best and is very strong as well.

I pull about 5 inches of lead out the tie to a tiny barrel swivel.

You have a fourth vote for the Albright. Never had one slip or break. I have left plenty of Balsa and Plastic on the bottom of many lakes or in the trees of the Missouri River Water though.

Albright is great, no messing with stripping back lead etc... Caugth several fish on lead over 15 lbs w/o an issue. The only other knot I like with lead is the Carot knot. Blood knots are only a 65% strength knot if I remember correctly.
