Fishing Logs

I have wanted to keep a fishing log for sometime now but have never really gotten around to do it. I think that if I could get one for my computer I would keep track better. I have seen that some software like this is available online but the price is like 30$. Anyone ever used fish logging software and if so which one is the best?

a buddy of mine bought a cabin on Long Lake near Park Rapids in 1982 and has a Log on his computer of ever walleye he has caught of the lake since. he uses a spread sheet and simply updates when ne technology comes into being since you usualy take info from one generation comp and put it on the next. in his sheet he has time, temp, water temp, wind, pressure, where, how deep, on what, cloud cover. He says it takes a bout 2 minutes to do when you come in from fishing and lets face it we cruze this site for far longer then 2 minutes. Just My 2 cents. Jonah

I've had a hand written fishin log since the early 90's. Use it mostly for hardwater fishin. Entry includes the location & date & time I start and the weather conditions of the day. As I catch fish I enter the type & how big each fish is. It's interesting to use it to compare how good the fishin was year to year and learn how the weather does make a big difference in how the fish feed.

Best of luck...

This would be a great thing to chart.I have thought of doing this for the past 5 years and have not.I always think I can remember everything and my wife says I remember nothing. frown.gifAt least nothing important. wink.gif

I still have the logs I was sending out if you want a copy of them. Have one set up for open water and another for ice...

If you wouldn't mind I'd like to take a look please.

No problem, guys. Sent three out when I saw the posts. cool.gif

Let me know if there's any problems or suggestions you have to make it better, since that's the price I charge for it... input! grin.gif

Got them sent out to everyone but Prophet... need your email, bud.

For those of you that have it, if you have any suggestions to make it better, let me know.. it's pretty flexible to changes... and extremely expandable too...

looks like we're on the thread at the same time. laugh.gif

OH.. for those of you who haven't seen this thing.. it's an Exccel spreadsheet with dropdown boxes, spots for Lake/River Name, area of lake, structure, depth,GPS, species caught, species targeted, dates, weather conditions, technique used, wind, water clarity & temp... etc.

Pretty much everything I could think of... like I said, a little bit of time and you can make the darn thing do just about anything you want it to!!! cool.gif

Hey Slick,

If you don't mind I would like a copy of this spreadsheet as well. Like many others here, I have been thinking about this for many years, my excel skills are getting better, but by all means, not great yet. My email is [email protected] Thanks in advance. Do you know if there is a way to add shortcuts through excel to jump into a folder full of photos, say photos of the fish you caught on a particular outing? I understand that you will not know the exact path to everybody's files, but if you know how to do it, just a description might be a pretty sweet option.

Thanks much,

Tom Dobbins
