All I can say is "Backherup" should be here razzing all of us Twins fans! My goodness what happened to this pitching staff? Oh wait, 1 run in two games against the kitties... the world must be coming to an end! It's just plain Loony! Speaking Loons, heres a pic I took on Wednesday on Tonka.

Nice loon pic, buzz. Your avatar is fitting, too, considering the Twinkies play this weekend. How's that old Zeppelin tune go, "Little drops of rain, whisper of the pain. Tears of loves lost in the days gone by." I bet Terry Ryan is listening to it as we speak, er, type. grin.gif

This team is the second worst in the A.L.- only KC is worse, and not by much. Gardy is a good baseball man, but how can he seriously say that he is not worried about Rad-yard and the rest of the embarassing pitching staff, and with a straight face, no less! If they do not turn this sinking ship around by the third week of May, they might as well dump some of these overpaid and underperforming guys and look the triple A. Gardy might be on the chopping block in the near future, I believe...This is not helping the outdoor stadium push, for (Contact US Regarding This Word) sure. I can't watch anymore, it is embarassing-they are the laughing stock of the division, if not the entire A.L...

Wow...I agree with you guys the Twinks have looked pretty awful so far this year, but I mean come on...it's still APRIL. I know in the past couple years, I remember a team like Oakland starting the season horrible but eventually catching fire in the second half and end up making the postseason. Maybe for once the Twins start bad, and finish hot, who knows? All I know is that it's waaaaaaaaay too early to jump ship. Aren't there like 140+ games left??? Maybe this rainy weather is starting to get to people. Go Twinks!

I admire your optimism, but I don't see any reason to think it will change. I have not checked todays score, but I am sure we are getting rocked again. Just like yesterday, the day before, etc....

This is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!! We only can score 1 flipping run again the Tigers!! I know the Tigers are improved but come on.

I like Gardy as a manager but how long is he going th wait to change his starting rotation? Its been a month into the season and he hasn't made ONE adjustment to the starting 5.

As for the hitting I don't know where to begin. We only have 2 hitters that get on base and they are Castillo and Stewert. Seems like the rest of the team waites for the first strike and then they swing at the next pitch and than they are in the 0-2 hole.

Tomorrow is May 1 and we are 8 games behind the Soxs. Could be a long summer. Good thing we have great fishing around here.

This team just blows and they want to build a new stadium. I hope the people who get to vote for a new stadium votes NO. Why help support a team who's owner cant even put a penny into this team to bulid a contender. This team is already 8 games out of 1st and its not looking to get better. Now they get Seattle and I hope they do the same thing to the Twins that Detroit, Chicago and Cleveland did CLEAN SWEEP. Well the rest of the year I am saying

"GO WHITE SOX".......

Hey MNWild,

Welcome to the southside express bandwagon, there is plenty of room for everybody else to hop on as well. I am saving a spot for Geno, Buzz and the rest. The Sox are not a flashy team but man do they get the job done, excluding today of course, good defense, good speed, timely hitting and occasional power to go with a top notch pitching staff. Hey, I think I just described the Twins of old. Kind of weird, we used to be the ones that sat back waiting for the 3 run homer so we could watch the scoreboard fireworks go off before our relief pitchers would blow the game in the 8th or 9th. What a difference a change in philosophy makes and you have to give all the credit for that change to Ozzie. Anywho, I will keep a few seats open on the Pale Hose bandwagon, anybody else jumping yet. 8 games out on May 1st looks like about 15 games out by June 1st.

ALL ABOARD as in YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD....YES! Windy

My Windy friend, you can sell that seat as I have chosen to suffer through a tough season. Your team will have fun battling with Cleveland as we try and just stay ahead of the perenial bottom feeders ie... Detroit and KC... and Detroit just put a classic beatin' on us!!

Hey Buzz,

You can't blame a guy for tryin'! I know that you bleed Twinkie (what colors are their official color?) Let's just say you have Twinkie-filling in your veins (and was that not the best part of those darn snack cakes, hands down).

I just thought you would look great in a White Sox jersey all black and silver holding up that monster walleye you caught, 31" if I remember correctly? I feel for you my man, I have a ball signed by the entire 1969 Sox team which was probably one of the worst teams in history. I think they lost close to 100 games if not 100 that year. Hey, your team is your team and it starts at birth. I'm sure you are already telling your little guy stories about Kirby and Harmon.

I can't believe it is only the beginning of May and I already have a Twinkie fan and a Cubbie fan jumping on the Southside Express! TOOT TOOT

The train is leaving the station and as usual....

YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES! Windy

Yeah...well, I'm not sure I'm glad to be back but I will live and die a Detroit sports fan. Just cannot help that. You stick it out through the rough times and the winning just seems so much better (i.e; the Red Wings, the Pistons, hopefully the Tigers and soon the Lions)...

Someday, I'll be moving back to Detroit...my hometown...in the meantime I'll have to put up with fairweather Minnesota sports fans jumping "on-and-off-and-on-and-off-and-on..." the bandwagon... grin.gif

The Tigers currently possess the third best record, the second best ERA, are tied for second in saves, and have the 6th best batting average and lead the the Major Leagues in home runs...can you believe it? Who would have thought it...I just hope it lasts, because the Twins won't play this bad all season long...and it is still early.

It's been a wier year in baseball, the Tigers have very good bats, that should keep up... it's the pitching I'm curious about. As far as the Twins go, it's hard to say if they'll come around... Radke, Silva and Lohse and Crain have shown me nothing really positive yet... oh did I leave out Rondell White. I predict a third place finish at best and maybe a fourth place finish if the Tigers keep playing this well.

Buzz,

How dare you lament your team vs mine? At least you have a chance at 3rd place! Now, about this Jones guy - want him back? Sheesh, cleanup last night and he went 0-5 w/4K's I think. Glad I fell asleep before the bottom of the 10th.

I hope everybody had the chance to see Torii's diving catch in left-center field today which robbed Magglio Ordonez of an extra-base hit...absolutely incredible. Santana was just plain filthy through 6 innings, and I believe he ended up with at least 10 K's. Overall I thought we looked pretty solid, now we just need to keep the momentum going against the Rangers in Texas.
