Kylersk your house looks great. You are out pacing me in building. I will haveto post some pics in a month. I have to cut 3 pices for my siding and 3 roof pices and then Paint everything. I will have all my Brake lighting by the end of the month. If I get mine painted in a few weeks I will be able to bring it home. Then I can work on the inside some.

Look's great. Looks like you have had a very busy summer.

Thanks for the compliment. It hasnt been too busy.. I've had alot of layoffs because of heat and other things. But overall this project has been a lot of fun to work on.

Now I'm hitting the home stretch. About all I have left is install carpet, upper bunk, ceiling, couple of cabinets, gas lines for heater, finish trim work, complete wiring, and figure a way to install my hole lights. I think that's all I have left.

There's a few other options that I'd like to do but may not finish this year: Diamond plate the front (using wood for now) and install a gas cook stove.

mnfishingguy, It looks like I have just over $2000 in the house, 600 in furnace, and ~600 in the trailer. Hours? No clue. I started the trailer this past winter and house, I think in March? Doing a little here and a little there.

Again I say your house looks great, you obviously take pride in what you do.

I would be curious as to what it weighs when it is finished. I am always looking for new ways to do things and weight is always a consideration.

Keep up the good work and maybe I will see you on Mille Lacs this winter.

Thanks, I've never done anything quite like this. So, it's been alot of fun seeing it come together.

As far as the Gathering in Rogers, If I do go, I doubt my house will be ready. But who knows.

I have to say this is one project that looks awesome and a blast to do.....Now, how can I talk my wife into thinking this would be a good idea....Maybe in a few years I can talk her into something like this. You have definately made this project look easy. I am jealous.....$4k for a home built ice house? unbelievable

Picked the cabinets up at Menards (corner) and home depot (side). I originally bought the side cabinet thinking it would work in my bathroom area for wiring and such, but it was too wide. They are both unfished and their 'stock' cabinets. The corner one was ~$80 and the side about $30. Not sure if thats reasonable or not.

Little update, for those that are watching...

Put carpet in and started the base trim. I've kinda left the bathroom area fall behind. No ceiling or anything in that area yet.. Anyways, here's the pics.

I was looking at the pictures of your fish house trailer and noticed a couple of things. First, you've decided not to slide the spring pin though the spring hole, but instead sort of trap the spring in the mount. Why have you decided to do this? I can see that it would be much more user friendly than trying to align a swiviling bracket with the hole. I like the idea and may use it when modifying my trailer.

Second. What gauge steel did you decide to use? It looks like 1/8". If that's true, I'm happy to see that. In the past, I've seen poeple use 3/6" throughout, but the added weight and certainly the added cost (@0.70 cents to 0.80 cents/lb) doesn't weigh out, so to speak, IMO that is.

You're doing an awesome job! Keep up the good work. Are you planning on making it to the fish house mod get together on the 23rd? Oh yeah, where are you located?

A friend of mine, who built one, talked me into the design.

Yup, 1/8" 2x3 steel for the main frame, and 3x3 for the tongue.

Thanks for the compliment, but the camera can hide alot of the flaws. cool.gif

I plan on attending the gathering, but without my house.

I live about 30 miles west of Minneapolis.
